For vehicles as large as the Chevy Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD, it’s important to have side marker lights to help passersby determine exactly where the dimensions of the heavy-duty truck begin and end. While the OEM side marker lights are more than capable of providing adequate lighting, aftermarket supplier Morimoto has now released a set of LED side marker lights for both General Motors HD pickups.
Available for 2015+ Silverado HD and Sierra HD dually models, these LED side marker lights feature polycarbonate lenses, are molded from ABS plastic, and include everything you need for a plug-and-play installation. Of course, as LED lights, these side markers are brighter, and have a longer life, than the OEM side markers.
Additionally highlights include a two-year warranty, while each purchase includes four sets of LED side marker to complete replace all OEM side marker lights. Available for $75, these LED side marker lights are an affordable lighting upgrade for 2015+ GM HD pickup trucks.
Powertrain options for the 2024 Silverado HD and 2024 Sierra HD include the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, rated at 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, and the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine, uprated for the 2024 model year to 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque. Both engines are mated to the Allison-branded 10-speed automatic transmission.
As for structure, both HD trucks ride on a more capable variant of the GM T1 platform. Production of the Silverado HD takes place at the GM Flint plant in Michigan and GM Oshawa plant in Canada, while Sierra HD production takes place exclusively at the GM Flint plant.
