Low-Mile 1993 Geo Tracker Convertible Up For Grabs

Matching surprising capability with diminutive dimensions (especially compared to modern SUVs), the Geo Tracker provides an interesting counterpoint to the bigger-is-better utility mindset of today. Now, this low-mile 1993 Geo Tracker LSi 4×4 is up for grabs in a new online auction, offering up a surprisingly well-kept body and mechanicals for a 30-year-old vehicle.

This particular Geo Tracker was registered to a single family in Idaho and Ohio prior to its acquisition by the selling party in September of 2022. The odometer shows just over 50,000 miles on the clock, 100 of which were added by the selling party.

This 1993 Geo Tracker LSi 4x4 is now up for sale.

Outside, this 1993 Geo Tracker LSi 4×4 presents an attractive little two-door body, with squarish styling that’s very much in line with the era. The white rear hardtop is removable, as is the roof panel above the seats. In the corners, we see a set of silver 15-inch wheels, while in back, there’s a single spare tire externally mounted on the side-hinged tailgate.

The interior provides seating for four, with gray upholstery adorning the seats. A three-spoke steering wheel is joined by analog controls, buttons, dials, and switches. Amenities include air conditioning and a cassette stereo. The windows are manually operated, and there’s an aftermarket alarm system as well.

As for the powertrain, motivation is sourced from a 1.6L I4 gasoline engine, which connects to a three-speed automatic transmission and dual-range transfer case. There’s also automatic locking front hubs, while front discs pair with rear drums to haul it down.

Now, this 1993 Geo Tracker LSi 4×4 is listed for sale on Bring A Trailer, and is offered at no reserve. The mini SUV is located in Shakertown, Kentucky, and the sale includes service records and the manufacturer’s literature. As of this writing, the highest bid of seven placed thus far us is set at $3,444, with the auction scheduled to end on Monday, June 12th.

  4. Remember the Suzuki Samurai?

Years ago, working in Product Planning, the company I worked for (not GM) was interested in coming out with a model to compete with the Samurai. I went to a Suzuki dealership to talk to the General Manager because we always wanted to hear the dealer’s perspective on products.

Anyway, while waiting, a young guy came into the showroom with a broken arm in a sling, a large bandage around head plus other injuries. I started talking with him and he said he just owned a Samurai but rolled the thing three times when he made a right turn onto a street while coming down a hill in LA.

Puzzled, I asked him why he was at the Suzuki dealer. He said “to buy another one!”

True story. And no we decided not to offer a Samurai competitor.

  5. I had got one for the wife I don’t remember what year it was I think it was the first year that they came out ours was white with a black vinal top had a five-speed stick four-wheel drive. Had bought a aftermarket hard top for it from 4-Wheel Parts in Oakland Calif. which was made of fiberglass and had a bunch hair line cracks in it tried take it back and order another one but the manger was a total a-hole about it and wouldn’t even come out look at the top.

  6. It has 3 speed automatic. 4 speed itself was obsolete, just imagine 3 speed; the mileage will be lousy; sound will be noisy. Will GM have the spares for this. Will insurance companies insure it.
    What about emission test?

For $11K, Baojun Yep: a 3 door electric SUV is sold in China and lets hope, they bring it to USA or Tesla makes 1 like this. After all, their Gigatexas will have lot of space to make another vehicle in addition to Model Y & CT.

But it will be fun to drive Geo Tracker.

  7. My friend had a 1990 Geo Tracker that we drove all over the steep mountain roads in Colorado. The 4 wheel drive was great, and we never had any problems on some very bad roads. I really liked that vehicle for 4-wheeling!

  9. Installed a new suspension with 3″ lift, 1″ wheel spacers and 235×75×16″ wheels in a 93 2 dr. Flat towed for 2 years until I found my 2002 2 Dr 2.0l auto for my now 2,600 lb flat toe. Like it lots as it attacks ATV trails with little hesitation.
