As GM Authority was the first to report almost two years ago, General Motors will bid farewell to the sixth-generation Chevy Camaro with a new, special-edition model packed with unique content. Dubbed the 2024 Chevy Camaro Collector’s Edition, the new special model is available across the 2024 Chevy Camaro trim level lineup, but will have limited production when applied to the 2024 Camaro’s range-topping ZL1 trim level. Now, GM Authority has learned how many units of the 2024 Chevy Camaro ZL1 Collector’s Edition are reserved for the U.S.

  1. When will the 2024 Camaro 2ss go into production and this not being the collection Addison…??? Since our 2023 Camaro SS didn’t get built we ordered a 2024. Sad since our order has been in since December 2022.

    1. Good luck with getting that 2024. I also had a 2SS ordered in 2022 December got call from Dealer in May telling me that I couldn’t get the 2SS but he could order me a 1SS. I didn’t want a 1SS because you couldn’t get what I wanted on it. I found me a 2SS 2021 with 2,000 miles bought it instead. Dealer lost that sell.

    2. You can order a 24 2SS without the Collectors Edition. Collectors Edition is an optional package. Also, the limited run of 350 is only for the ZL1 Collectors Edition.
That said, it will be a short model year, so essentially all 2024 Camaros are limited.

    3. Same here. They say sales are the reason for discontinuing the Camaro. If been trying to buy one for two years with no luck

  2. they only seem to mention the number for ZL1 models.. How many will they make for the other trims

  3. Too bad Chevy didn’t wait until 2027 to axe the Camaro. Could have sent the Camaro off with a bang with a 60th Anniversary Edition. Would be far more collectible than a Collector’s Edition.

  4. Good luck getting ANY of these this last year! Only those with pulling power will get one. Then we will see those goof balls, showing them off at car Shows and “Cars and Coffee” gigs. What a way to scam the public. Then the Camaro will go Electric. Very very bad move. GM going all electric, will be thier doom. The power grid will never be able to cover all theses new “Green Deal” vehicles. The country, and the world, is not ready for this dumb move. The “Goody Two Shoes” will ruin this country. Someone has to stop all this insanity!

  5. Yes Harley I agree with you 300 units is not a lot maybe that’s all the leftover parts they have to build them should’ve done a better job on redesign in the last model dealers will mark them up you’ll see him at Barrett Jackson in a couple years getting stupid money for them

    1. You would think with the special paint for the different trims they would have a larger allocation, but I guess the US is in the same boat as Japan, they are only sending the special orange paint job to Japan.

      1. The “special paint” is also available on CT4 and CT5 Blackwings, so its not like its a special paint for a small batch of cars. Camaros are made at the same shop as the CT4 and CT5s as ya may already know.

Are they only making 350 globally in all trim levels or just 350 ZL1Colllector Editions in ZL1 trim?

    1. that is the unknown question

    2. Yeah that’s an error in the article. That said, the Collector Edition has the same option number for all trims:

Z4B NEW! Camaro Collector Edition – LT
      Z4B NEW! Camaro Collector Edition – LT1
Z4B NEW! Camaro Collector Edition – SS
      Z4B NEW! Camaro Collector Edition – ZL1

  7. @joe seems like your dealer does not have an allocation, they’ll all take a deposit for one.
Might try another dealer. Good luck!

  9. Let’s face it I like the Camaro as much as the next guy, but GM is phasing this car out there going to use all the parts they have in inventory with a few spares they’re focuses on the electric vehicle it’s obvious too bad I would’ve liked to see this car go a little further

  10. This collectors edition doesn’t even show any high dollar options, nickel and dime stuff just wouldn’t be my first choice for a Camaro

  11. i scrolled up and didn’t see where anyone asked what you like or if you like matte black paint…

    1. Don’t give me an attitude pal. What are you a Chevrolet expert? Did you work for the company? it was an opinion like this website goes along with

  12. They will make 2000 collectors edition cars total across all trim levels….ZL1 will be a total of 350 in Panther Black Matte and 50 of them will be for outside the US.

  13. Dealer “market adjustment” will be horrific. Aren’t they going to start building the 2024’s in late June and end production in January. Getting any ’24 like you want it will be a nightmare. Very sad end to the ICE Camaro again. I was fortunate to have a low mileage ’75 RS in 1976 (had 6 very nice Chevelles including 64, 70 & 72 SS) and a new ’79 Z28. Son has a ’17 RS 1LT V6, A8 we bought him new in 2018 while he was JR in HS. Great car and now has 22K has he now plans to go to Grad School.

  14. $15k is a pretty good pop for what is essentially an appearance package. That being said, I’m not sure what a copper-free braking system is. CCBs?

  15. That was another stupid idea that came out of California those brake pads

  16. I ordered a 2SS manual trans Panther Edition Convertible today (June 22). Reading thru these POST, its the first time I’ve heard of limited special edition numbers (only 2000 units – yikes). Besides the 350 ZL1 units GM announced. My dealer mentioned, that the owner’s 2024 ZL1 order was accepted/allocated. Mine was their 2nd order placed for the Panther, hopefully the dealer receives an allocation to FILL it. Lucky for me, my dealer is located in Detroit. And they appear confident my car will be built. Which honestly seems strange, as I figured I would be low on the totem pole. I’ll try to keep you guys posted.

    1. The allocation for a build comes from GM to dealer. Once he has the allocation for a CE build, then you submit your build to GM. Once submitted, it will show if accepted. If so, you will receive a confirmation # from GM that your car has been moved to production. Maybe you got lucky. I reserved an allocation spot in March for ZL1 CE. I got a call on the 22nd that my dealer had an allocation. I built and submitted then. GM accepted! I’m pumped!
