Here’s How Many 2024 Chevy Camaro Collector’s Edition Units GM Plans To Build

Exclusive to the 2024 model year and intended as a send-off package for the Bow Tie brand’s iconic muscle car, the limited Collector’s Edition will feature a bevy of exterior and interior features that distinguish properly-equipped units from “regular” Camaro models. Now, GM Authority has learned how many 2024 Chevy Camaro Collector’s Edition units General Motors is currently planning to build.

Sources close to the matter tell GM Authority that The General is looking to build 2,000 units of the Collector’s Edition across the LT/RS, LT1 and 1SS/2SS trim levels, along with an additional 350 units for the ZL1 Collector’s Edition production.

It’s worth noting that the figure for non-ZL1 trim levels is subject to change at any time.

For those who may be unaware, here’s the lowdown on the Collector’s Edition. Available across the entire 2024 Chevy Camaro lineup, this limited package is headlined by special paint colors, accents, aero bits, and wheels. More specifically, the LT/RS, LT1 and SS trims will feature the Panther Black Metallic Tintcoat paint (color code GLK), Satin Black accents stripes, 20-inch Satin Black wheels (or optional Polished Forged Wheels), 1LE front splitter, and a coupe-exclusive ZL1 rear spoiler.

In regard to the high-performance ZL1, Collector’s Edition units will feature the unique Panther Matte Black paint job (color code GNW), a Black Metallic ZL1 stripe, red brake calipers, black lug nuts, the ZL1 1LE front splitter, and the coupe-exclusive ZL1 1LE rear wing.

As far as pricing is concerned, a base LT/RS equipped with the Collector’s Edition package will feature a starting MSRP of $39,440. Meanwhile, the range-topping ZL1 Collector’s Edition will boast a starting price of $88,690.

As a reminder, production of the 2024 Chevy Camaro currently scheduled to officially kick off in August 2023. Until then, orders for the final model year of the sixth-generation Camaro opened up June 15th, 2023.

  1. Not sure if GM will actually benefit from this special edition. Historically, special editions are created to prompt immediate sales to loyal customers and bring in new buyers. With the low production run, Dealers will mark up several thousands of dollars and create ill will amongst Camaro fans. Ford obviously saw this coming and launched an all new Mustang.

    1. Ford will always have ice mustang I don’t think they could ever get away with not having one . GM can get away with it because mustang is national treasure and Camaro is not . When you think American auto industry it’s like first car you think of .

      1. I don’t accept your premise that the Mustang is a national treasure but the Camaro is not. However, if you were correct, then the biggest automotive national treasure of all would be the Corvette, as it pre-dates the mustang by 11 years and is has more recognition domestically and especially internationally than the Mustang. That said, I like and respect all of what I consider to be our automotive national treasures (Corvette, Mustang, Camaro, Challenger, and Charger).

    2. Between the dealer market adjustments & the extended wait time on vehicle delivery, wonder how many loyal customers are interested??

  3. I know a couple of dealers, they had Camaro’s scheduled to be built in late May and early June. They got bumped to August. More than likely, it was done to say you have have still have a 2023. You’re not getting a 2024.

  4. I heard they are making only 3000 units total for the 2024 model.

      1. Ya that’s what’s my dealers rep told my salesman. Sure there are many rumors, also stated that there was no limit on the CE, only on the ZL1

    2. Maybe that is all they have the parts for if they’re going to end the 2024 model year in JAN/FEB compared to a usual run. On the other hand, with the delivery all over the place between GM/Chevy & the railroad, some people might not get their cars until sometime in 2025.

  5. They should give every dealer one. That would be fair but that’s not the world we live in. The diversity, equality, and inclusive program means nothing at GM. It’s all talk.

  6. Did they open up orders on 6/15? The build tool isn’t live on chevy’s website and my dealership says they don’t have the option to order with the CE yet.

    1. Ordering for a CE is available. My dealer has 1 in for me and it’s accepted. Just waiting for allocation. Got pricing for it as well.

  7. I have a workbench order in for a ZL1, but it’s not the collector’s edition. The dealership will probably get an allocation in August or September.

No problem. I’m used to waiting when I was on a list for a C8 Corvette for 16 months. It was worth the wait because I received the 70th anniversary edition.

Life is way too short. Now, it’s time to build one last Camaro!

    1. GM accepted my build for a 2024 CE ZL1 on the 22nd. The allocation to build CE was out of the first bucket of 150 allocations in US. 6 Speed, Black Matte and optioned out except moon roof and red exterior stripe. Approximately $97K MSRP.

      1. Why city is your dealer located in? My understanding is they were being allocated by previous sales of the Camaro. The highest dealer sales get the ZL1. I couldn’t find one within 500 miles of me to get it.
So I ended up ordering the SS collectors.

  8. The special editions are too expensive. I guess that’s business. They look good.

Probably, the gloss will look too close to regular black in overcast or low light. They should be a bit more daring and keep Shadow gray for ’24 and delete the regular black.

  9. It would’ve been nice if Chevy would’ve upgraded the outgoing ZL1 with the C7 ZR1’s 755hp LT5 paired with the dual-clutch tranny from the C8.

  10. Can you order a regular 24 or just the special edition?

    Reply
    1. You can if your dealer has an allocation for build. CE is only available on 2000 allocations over all models.

  11. Yes, you can order a non-CE Camaro.
