GMC Sierra Gets Pummeled By Hailstorm: Video

Mother Nature doesn’t always play nice – in fact, sometimes, the natural elements can get downright destructive. Unfortunately, that was the case in Arkansas recently after a severe hailstorm rolled through, resulting in injuries and destroying property. Now, we’re watching a new viral video from a GMC Sierra owner who caught his truck getting pummeled by massive ice chunks falling from the sky.

A GMC Sierra is damaged in a massive hailstorm.

Recently making it onto social media by TikTok user Rob Kellar (@robkellar7), the video was captured in Hot Springs, Arkansas, where reports indicate that a severe storm dropped softball-sized hail onto residents last week. The video shows Kellar’s GMC Sierra parked outside, where the ice chunks are seen battering the hood, roof, and windshield.

The truck is obviously getting heavily damaged, with large dents in the body panels and cracks in the windshield. The ice chunks are seen splashing in the puddles nearby, spraying water like a thrown stone.

As some in the comments section point out, the truck is one of the unfortunate vehicles left out of the garage during the recent heavy hailstorm. Kellar films the video from inside the garage next to a silver crossover while the pickup is pummeled. Watching the video, one can’t help but feel bad for the poor GMC Sierra as it weathers the storm.

Interestingly, thousands of units of unshipped 2023 Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon pickups, as well as GMC vans, were damaged by hail last month in Missouri near the GM Wentzville plant. As GM Authority was the first to report, roughly 3,300 unshipped vehicles were damaged after a significant hailstorm rolled through. Not all of the vehicles were parked at the GM Wentzville plant, with some parked at nearby lots which GM is using as storage areas. Some of the vehicles were waiting for retrofits or quality control.

Hopefully, the damage done to the GMC Sierra seen in this recent video is covered by insurance.

  1. Yup, that’s happened to my vehicles in the past here in the Midwest. I’ve collected on vehicles and two new roofs over the years. Just a fact of life here in the land of milk and honey.
