GM Teases Upcoming 2024 Chevy Montana RS In Brazil

Earlier this year, GM Authority exclusively reported that the Chevy Montana will introduce a sporty looking RS trim level. Now, General Motors has just revealed the first teaser of the upcoming 2024 Chevy Montana RS in Brazil.

The automaker announced that it will soon add a new member to Chevrolet‘s growing lineup of sporty RS variants in Brazil, revealing the first teaser image with a partial view of the front of the vehicle without directly mentioning its name. However, visible design cues and MNT letters on the license plate confirm that said model is the upcoming 2024 Chevy Montana RS.

“Currently available for Onix, Tracker, Cruze and Equinox, Chevrolet’s RS line will soon gain another member – also equipped with a turbo engine that combines performance and energy efficiency,” said Product Marketing Director of GM South America, Paula Saiani. “The new model debuts in Brazil in July and also stands out for being unique globally,” she added.

In particular, the teaser image of the upcoming 2024 Chevy Montana RS previews the front-end design elements of the sporty compact pickup variant painted in red, including a specific louver-pattern grille mesh. In addition, the blacked-out trim finish, black Bow Tie logo and contrasting RS badge are also exclusive styling cues.

Just like we mentioned in our previous coverage, the upcoming 2024 Chevy Montana RS boasts cosmetic changes only, and will not include any powertrain changes. As such, the 2024 Montana RS will retain the familiar turbocharged 1.2L three-cylinder engine that develops a peak output of 133 horsepower and 155 pound-feet of torque. The engine is expected to be coupled exclusively to the six-speed automatic transmission.

The upcoming 2024 Chevy Montana RS will make its world debut next month during Brazil’s Interlagos Festival, taking place July 20-23 at the Interlagos Racetrack located in the city of São Paulo. The new Montana RS will join the Chevy Onix RS, Cruze RS, Equinox RS and Tracker RS as the fifth member of the brand’s sporty lineup in the Brazilian market, positioned below the range-topping Premier variant.

  1. Wish that Montana was available in the US with a diesel hybred all wheel drive configuration.

  2. Yes, it would be nice if Chevrolet were to make the Montana RS available for us here in America. What’s up with that, are we now a second rate nation, that even our own manufacturing companies won’t allow us the choice ? That’s like a slap in the face. The Montana RS looks to be a very nice vehicle, I’ve been in search for a new vehicle for sometime now, and every time I see a new Chevrolet being offered in another country really bothers me. Because the last few vehicles that Chevrolet offered in other countries I would have made a purchase, but unfortunately they were not made available here in our Country. Sad.
