GM has launched a customer satisfaction program to ship two extra keyfobs to 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 customers who ordered the two additional keyfobs option (RPO code 5H1) for a total of four, but did not receive the extra keys at the time of purchase.
To correct this condition, GM instructs dealers to supply owners of affected 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 units with the two additional keyfobs they originally purchased.
Only fleet customers were eligible to order the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 with two additional keyfobs (5H1). The option was available for the Pro and SLE trim levels at the launch of the 2022 GMC Sierra before becoming unavailable during the 2022 calendar year.
After a period of unavailability, the two additional keyfobs option became available to order again later in the model year. Subsequently, it is also offered as an option on the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 and the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500, though availability is now limited to the Pro trim level. As before, only fleet customers can order this option.
The current customer satisfaction program addresses some units of the refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 that arrived mid-model year. It does not apply to the pre-refresh 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Limited.
GM says that only a total of 186 affected vehicles without the two additional keyfobs ordered at time of purchase. This number is further split between involved 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 trucks and 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 units, which were also affected by the constraint.
The customer satisfaction program is available through June 30th, 2025. While the additional keyfobs are supplied to qualifying GMC Sierra owners free of charge, the customer must pay for programming the keyfob, as is always the case with key-related options.
GM advises dealerships to not order the keyfobs as shelf stock because of the very small number of GMC Sierra units involved in the program. The involvement of a specific GMC Sierra truck can be verified by seeing if it is marked “Open” on the Investigate History screen in the GM Global Warranty Management system.

Questions can be directed to the GMC customer service telephone line at 1-800-462-8782, referring to GM customer satisfaction program number N232398030.

Those are not cheap. The local stealership charged someone I know $650 for two replacement key fobs.
Ford was charging us $65 for the two additional fobs for new fleet vehicles a few years ago. Much cheaper than buying at retail after delivery.
When will the TCM be available for the 2009 GMC Sierra 2500 HD?
Just give me a key, please.
