Ford Performance Introduces F-150 FP700 Supercharger Package

Unveiling a new option to simultaneously boost power and add an eye-catching aesthetic upgrade to certain F-150 pickup models, GM cross-town rival Ford has debuted two variants of the Ford Performance FP700 Package for recent model years of its most popular truck nameplate.

Ford offers the new FP700 Package in both a Bronze Edition and a Black Edition, each paired with a high-output supercharger designed to enhance the horsepower and torque of F-150 trucks equipped with 5.0L engines.

The Ford Performance FP700 Package is designed to be compatible with “nearly any” 2021, 2022, or 2023 model-year Ford F-150 motivated by a 5.0L V8 engine. The FP700 can be optionally fitted to XL, XLT, Lariat, and Platinum trim levels of the F-150, including those with either 4×2 or 4×4 drivetrains.

The FP700 Package functions with Ford F-150s in the regular cab, SuperCab, or SuperCrew cab configurations. It is available for trucks with 5.5-foot and 6.5-foot beds, but is not compatible with those equipped with the 8-foot bed. It also cannot be used on F-150s with the Pro Power Onboard generator system.

At the core of the Ford Performance FP700 is a 3.0L Whipple supercharger, boosting the 5.0L V8’s output to 700 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. Ford notes the supercharger system is CARB-compliant and legal in all 50 states in the U.S., while also functioning in trucks with Canadian Market Specification configuration.

The supercharger is paired with one of two appearance kits. The Bronze Edition features six-spoke 22-inch by 9.5-inch Sinister Bronze wheels, along with a bronze-colored bedside graphic with Ford Performance branding, and bronze tailgate lettering.

The Black Edition echoes the motifs of the Bronze Edition, but with black colors substituted for bronze. It includes wheels with the same dimensions with Black Machined Face coloring instead, a gray bedside graphic, and black tailgate lettering.

Both kits share a black-painted grille, a rear suspension lowering kit, a set of black lug nuts, fender vents and carpeted floor mats with Ford Performance branding, and an interior badge with the FP700 logo. Ford also recommends various optional accessories, including tailgate light bars, red tow hooks, roof and tailgate spoilers, and others available through the Ford Authorized Distributor (FAD) network.

The Ford Performance FP700 Package comes with a 3-year or 36,000-mile warranty, though installation must be carried out by an ASE-certified technician or Ford dealership in order for the warranty to remain valid.

  2. As a loyal GM owner through and through (Cruze RS, Camaro SS “Heavily Modified” and a C7 GS “Bolt-On”), it is a slap in the face that Ford and Dodge are providing their customers with NASTY options.

Oh well, at least GM is supplying us with a plethora of cookie-cutter CUV’s and more EV’s that benefit the CCP economy.

    Wuuuhhh…Wuuuuuhhhhh!!!! 🙁

  3. Jim Farley is turning Ford around and just might save the company. This will be a very popular revenue generator for them.

    1. Farley is a classic car racer. He knows what the enthusiast crowd wants because he is one. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think he also got 2nd in the 24 Hr of LeMans Classic last year in a GT40, and even raced mid-pack in the GT4 class in the actual LeMans race. Not only is he putting bean counters in a chokehold by demanding FP to hand out new sports car models like candy, but he has some pretty crazy EV goals and even crazier plans to meet them.
