Chevy Tahoe And Suburban Inventory Very Low In June 2023

The Chevy Tahoe and Chevy Suburban are among General Motors’ most recognizable nameplates, as the Detroit-based automaker has been producing both body-on-frame full-size SUVs for quite some time. Now, it appears as though inventory levels of the Tahoe and Suburban are markedly low this month.

GM Authority has learned from sources familiar to the matter that inventory levels of the Chevy Tahoe and Chevy Suburban are very low in June 2023. In fact, as of June 1st, the full-size SUVs are running at a nine days supply, meaning there is sufficient inventory to last nine days at the current sales pace. For reference, a 60 days supply is considered optimal.

This new development comes after the Tahoe and Suburban posted great Q1 2023 sales figures. Notably, the former saw an almost 14 percent jump to 27,257 units sold in the first quarter for 2023, while the latter increased a little more than 12 percent to 13,932.

As a reminder, the 2024 Chevy Tahoe and 2024 Chevy Suburban are set to kick off production in November 2023, and will see the introduction a mid-cycle refresh. This revision is expected to feature a new two-tiered lighting setup for the front end, which would incorporate a set of driving lights/turn signals mounted high on the fascia, with the primary headlights mounted lower in the fascia.

On the inside, several GM Authority spy shots capture what appears to be a redesigned center stack infotainment screen, which features larger overall dimensions. Furthermore, the instrument cluster will be updated with a thinner, tucked-in display reminiscent to that of the fifth-generation Cadillac Escalade.

As far as the current 2023 model year, both the Tahoe and Suburban are available with one of three powerplant choices, including the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, and the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax.

Under the skin, the both full-size SUVs ride on the GM T1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.

  2. Because then they would have to do like the trucks of today. In Oklahoma all trucks have 6k off MSRP and still lots are full. GM full size SUV sell when they hit the ground. Most are sold with in 24hrs…… (supply /demand)

  3. When are they going to introduce the 2024s? If production starts in Nov, it’s gotta happen soon?

  4. GMC needs a hybrid Suburban/p/u badly, still can’t rely on the grid in this country for a long time….. I’m a lifelong Suburban user…..time has come

    1. Best comment of all. I’m on my 6 or 7th Suburban and have waited over a year for a hybrid (mileage) and hopefully a lower hood (I’m short). Almost bought a Palisade (more features & warranty than slightly larger cargo area in Traverse- which has the most cargo below a Tahoe).
To downsize will be culture shock which is why my buying is taking so long. Now I hear the Highlander will have a Grand Highlander (16 cu.ft vs 20 cu.ft. behind third seat) . If none of the above have enough room, it’ll have to be a Tahoe (which has better space now than before).
