C6 Corvette Smashes Into Crowd At Car Meet: Video

A group of onlookers was struck by a C6 Corvette while capturing video at a sideshow-style car meet, and the results were recently posted online showing the moment of impact.

Although details of the event and video are hard to come by, it looks as through this meet-up happened somewhere in Florida. The video description says the event was “legal,” but was more likely just held in some abandoned lot, rather than on public streets.

Footage from viral video of a sideshow event.

The video is only a few seconds long, and opens with a broad, open piece of tarmac ringed with people. We see several cars doing burnouts and donuts, with passengers hanging out of the windows. You know, typical sideshow stuff.

For some reason, there are a few stacks of tires seen around the outer edge of the open lot. There’s obviously no safety benefit in randomly stacking up tires – it’s not like they’re going to stop anything. If they’re there to mark the edge of the pit, they’re not really working either, as we see several onlookers on the wrong side. More on them in a second.

As the video gets under way, we see a blue C6 Corvette slide in from the left-hand side of the screen. The rear end pirouettes around with speed, slamming right into a few onlookers trying to capture video.

The hit is brutal. One onlooker is punched back into the crowd, his hat flying off his head. Another onlooker wearing a pink shirt goes head first into the rear glass of the C6 Corvette and ends up getting carried several feet into the crowd. Several other onlookers appear as though they were sideswiped as well.

Seeing the accident is pretty disturbing. The folks who get hit try to get off the ground, obviously in a daze from what happened. The guy in the trunk has to be yanked out by another onlooker before the C6 Corvette is driven away.

No word on injuries, but it’s pretty damn obvious there were more than a few:

  2. I just don’t get this stupidity of just burning donuts. Even worse doing in close quarters with a crowd.

  3. The worst part is these RETARDS continue to BREED!
This accident won’t slow them down one bit.

    1. All breeding concerns aside…

I find it interesting, from a cultural advancement perspective, how the term “retards” is now most commonly used:

No longer to describe those unfortunate persons with developmental delays.

But rather to describe those persons who still persist in using the very term, “retards” as some sort of 3rd grade playground “I’m better than you” bullying taunt.

Because they are so lacking in adequate 5th grade vocabulary to simply state their point without name calling and disparagement of those who are handicapped.

Which I guess, in a circuitous way, brings us right back to the poster’s embarrassing perceptions about who should and should not breed.

      1. I find it interesting there are actually people who are willing to take the time to write a 110 word essay about how they are offended by a slang word posted by someone they don’t know on an internet forum dedicated to cars.

  4. I’m no Mario Andretti, but the rear always felt loose on my C6 GS that I purchased new. Driving a Mustang now. Much more predictable, for me anyway. I’m no prude, but I don’t even attempt drifting.

    1. I had the same problem on my C6. Changed the tires, problem solved.

which will remain unspoken in public at this juncture. 🤭

  10. In these situations, I really don’t blame the inexperienced driver, although their actions are highly questionable. I for one would not perform these acts in such close proximity to the on-lookers.

Who do I blame? I blame the spectators that for some reason, they think that they need to stand so close to the action. If I were to attend one of these events (I never would – after all, if you’ve seen one burnout/donut, you’ve seen them all,) you can be certain that I would be standing a very safe distance.

Oh – and the morons standing in front of the tires that are suppose to “protect” them? I guess they learned a very valuable lesson. Will they do it again? Probably…

    1. You said it. I was thinking the same thing. I drift and it’s inevitable that someone washes out to the bank. Ive had tires wear out mid session and almost tap the concrete. There was a video of the dude from FL learning to drift in his BrZ and was pretty good at the time he hit the 1st turn wall when his bald tires didn’t hook and spun him out.

These guys are who got hit are the same people raised with no consequences and doing the Tide pod challenge. Just saying…

  11. Only in ..no laws Florida would that be legal. And of course that jack@ss who lost his hat is lucky he didn’t loose his head.

  12. No, most of the blame is on the unbelievably stupid totally unskilled drivers. Perfect proof that there are people without a brain in their heads. Don’t bother taking pictures of the cars doing stupid stunts. Just get pictures of the license plates. Then give them to the almost as stupid injured. Also to any interested cops and insurance agents. This crap is totally out of hand.
