After officially showing the regular version of Buick’s new crossover coupe on June 12th in China, General Motors has now just revealed the all-new Buick Electra E4 GS in the Asian country.
The automaker’s SAIC-GM joint venture in China revealed the all-new Buick Electra E4 GS, the sporty variant of the compact all-electric crossover developed exclusively for the Chinese market. The Electra E4 GS introduces notable distinctions from the regular E4, including exclusive interior and exterior design details as well as a more potent powertrain with all-wheel drive.
Notably, the all-new Buick Electra E4 GS becomes Buick’s first electric vehicle to adopt the Gran Sport moniker level that embodies the brand’s DNA and sporting inclination since 1965. The Electra E4 GS accentuates the sporty character with an exterior package that includes a black diamond-pattern grille, more aggressive trim elements, 20-inch wheels with bronze accents and Brembo six-piston brake calipers.
For its part, the interior design of the all-new Buick Electra E4 GS is also unique, with a blacked-out cabin and bronze-colored accents that run along the horizontal line of the dash as well as the door handles and upper trim. In addition, the sporty version adds distinctively patterned panels, more supportive two-tone GS front seats and a customized interface for the infotainment system in keeping with the crossover’s dynamic interior environment.
Mechanically, the Buick Electra E4 GS comes standard with all-wheel drive and two Ultium Drive motors – one on each axle. The powertrain generates a peak output of 211 kW or 283 horsepower and 465 Nm or 343 pound-feet of torque, powered by an Ultium battery pack that certifies a range of 620 km or 385 miles on a single charge under the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC) standard.
The all-new Buick Electra E4 GS will be officially launched in China on June 19th along with the rest of the model range, positioned as a fresh-looking and bold crossover coupe aimed at young customers. The new Electra E4 is based on the same variant of the BEV3 platform as the all-new Buick Electra E5 and Chevy Equinox EV, and will be built exclusively at the new SAIC-GM Wuhan Ultium plant to supply the Chinese market.

Wow!! This is exactly what Buick needs for America.
Huh? There are at least a few dozen crossover models that all look like this already.
From Buick??
It has Trax rear lighting. Would be an ideal Bolt EUV with new front fascia. It’s a nice EV. Shocked Buick US doesn’t want it but would be an easy rebadge.
GM wastes a lot of money building unique cars when Chevrolet China isn’t very successful.
Don’t worry, I think this EV will be coming to North America.
Beautiful colour green… but would chose the colour in another model
Chevy calls it Cacti Green, looks very nice on the Trax. Wonder what GM China will call it.
This is a super ugly looking crossover.
They all are.
I couldn’t care less about GM’s unlimited supply of boring and anemic cookie-cutter CUV’s but…
GM supplies China and Korea with many of their new models and technologies, while the US only receives the leftovers. We may never see many of these new models. It’s a real shame and quite perplexing as well.
Xi Jinping appreciated their obedience.
More business with the country that threatens to destabilize the region and the world. Go the General. Doh!
Enough of what GM is offering in China already. Did they forget about the USA?
Yes.
Sat in a Lyriq the other day. This is better looking, IMO. And colors besides boring and more boring.
Not bad looking on the outside, though I do agree with many of the comments here that these are all starting to look similar in style. What I dislike is the spartan / minimalist interior style. I don’t get why they can’t integrate the info displays INTO the dash as opposed to that “stuck on” IPad look
TriSt8Z: Agreed.
China rules in the era of Biden. \USA is second class.
What?? Trump damaged our relationship with China beyond repair.
I completely agree, Joan. By Trump putting a stop to China’s boot on the throat of American businesses, this clearly angered Xi Jinping and his unadulterated pledge to become the world’s #1 power and implementing Communism around the globe.
Please put down the vodka and log off of your PC. You’re embarrassing yourself.
Hope it works better than the Chinese made brake light switches on many GM Trucks and Other vehicles. I’ve only had to replace three in 77k miles. You can bet that Barra and Co are happy about the demise of made in USA. Great American’s.
Our ww2 vets would be proud of the current jokes running this country. Not!
Nothing brings me joy like seeing a bunch of middle-aged men cry about a Buick crossover. Meanwhile you’re all driving to work on Chinese wheels. Stay scared, dads.
Do you mean the Chinese faux chrome cracked wheels? Yes, now that you mention it, another Chicom made cheap junk component.
What are you babbling about? Do you actually think Buick China getting this car is emblematic of something bigger? Well, aside from the Chinese loving Buick while Americans don’t?
This car will be likely reskinned and be the either new Bolt or Trax EV anyway
At the rate GM is building EV cars in America it will be years before anything like this will be seen here from GM. Other than the Bolt, GM is really not producing any electric cars in the US even though they have been bragging about it about now for more than a year. Lyriq and Hummer production numbers are a joke! How many have you seen on a highway in the last 6 months….none!!! and I travel a great deal in the Northeast. I see many Ford electric Mustangs however.
