2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ To Debut On August 9th: Video

Cadillac is cooking up a new all-electric variant of the iconic Cadillac Escalade, and it’s set to drop cover on August 9th in New York City. Dubbed the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ, GM also teased the battery-driven SUV in a new, brief video. The Cadillac Escalade IQ will be produced at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan, previously known as the GM Detroit-Hamtramck plant.

The new teaser video is less than 30 seconds long, and shows the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ in a series of quick, close-cropped shots, with New York City providing the backdrop. We see a shot of the roof, the rear spoiler, lighting elements, the wheels, badging, and the front end draped in shadow.

“As the brand’s first-ever all-electric full-size SUV, Escalade IQ represents the reinvention of Cadillac’s most iconic nameplate,” the automaker states. “The debut of Escalade IQ marks the next step in Cadillac’s commitment to offering a fully electric portfolio by the end of the decade.”

The 2025 Cadillac IQ will be produced at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan, which was recently renovated to serve as GM’s first EV-dedicated assembly facility following a $2.2 billion investment. The facility also produces the GMC Hummer EV, Chevy Silverado EV, and GMC Sierra EV.

Of course, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen the upcoming Cadillac Escalade IQ, as not only has the automaker teased it previously, but GM Authority spy photographers have also captured prototype models out for testing. Standout details include a body that appears to be lower and less bulky than that of the ICE-powered Cadillac Escalade, while under the skin, the Cadillac Escalade IQ will ride on the GM BT1 platform. The wheels will include a design inspired by the Cadillac Celestiq ultra-luxury sedan, while range-per-charge is expected to be around 400 miles. Inside the cabin, spy shots reveal a massive screen that could stretch door-to-door across the dash, similar to the new Celestiq.

  1. Does this mean that the EV versions of the Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Yukon will also be revealed later this year?

  2. @Mr. Pink
I doubt it would be that close. I bet GM probably wants the Escalade IQ on the market for at least one year so they can get higher margins prior to showcasing the Tahoe and Yukon.

I could obviously be wrong though HaHa

  3. I’m sure it will look great, have cool features and there will be strong demand. But, what’s the point of introducing new BEVs when GM can’t even produce the related Ultium models it already introduced.

  4. So we assumed the hummer was expensive , can’t wait to see this price tag . The full size suburban , Yukon , will live on with the new small block V8 engine programs for a while longer . Can’t wait to see the full size ice one vs the bev one compared side to side .

  5. A huge EV would be a total nightmare unless it had a small engine under the hood to extend the range by turning a generator. I can’t imagine the size and weight for a battery pack needed to move a close to 5 ton large SUV down the road. Not to mention the amount of time needed to safely charge the battery. Looks like a great daily driver but nothing i would want to take on a trip from Michigan to Florida and back during the busy travel seasons.

    1. I’m pretty sure it will use the 212 kWh Ultium battery used in the HUMMER EV allowing for over 300 miles of highway range – Using Tesla Super Chargers will eliminate range anxiety for a Michigan to Florida trip. Yes, GM needs to trim a lot of fat off of this first gen Ultium sibling (like 2k) – expect the 2nd gens (2028 ish) to weigh less with a 100-150 kWh battery.

  6. Wonder if it will have the NACS Charging Port when they show it off in August
