2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST In Summit White: Real-World Photos

Making its formal debut at the Consumer Electronics Show in 2022, the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV introduces an all-new, all-electric take on the legendary pickup nameplate. The first two trim levels to break cover included the well-equipped RST, as well as the fleet-oriented WT. Now, we’re taking a look what the new 2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST looks like in the real world with the following GM Authority photos.
This particular 2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST is covered in Summit White paint, providing a stark contrast to the black body components seen on all four sides. This particular example also looks quite a bit more complete than the Silverado EV RST that GM Authority spy photographers caught testing late last year, with additional production-ready pieces added here and there.
That includes the front end, which combos a white front fascia with a black lower bumper section, as compared to the black front fascia seen late last year. Up front is a “grille” section that’s blocked off, while placed front and center on the grille is the outline of the Chevy Bow Tie, clearly indicating where an illuminated badge will be mounted. The badge will bisect thin daytime running lights that underline the hood, per Chevy’s latest design language, while the primary forward illumination will be provided by rounded lamps seen mounted in the corners of the bumper on either side of the grille, completing the two-tier look.
A set of familiar wheels roll in the corners, matching black with silver for the spokes, creating a geometric design that lends the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST a futuristic look. The wheels are 24 inches in diameter, and are wrapped in Michelin tires. Step-ups are mounted around the rockers, while the C-pillar creates a floating roof design with the black window surrounds.
In back, this 2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST is seen with placeholder taillamps. The full-fledged production model will have large lenses with clean inner graphics. We also see the Chevy Multi-Flex tailgate and Chevy’s signature CornerStep rear bumper treatment.
As a reminder, the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST features GM Ultium batteries and GM Ultium Drive motors, with upwards of 754 horsepower on tap. The GM BT1 platform provides the bones, while production will take place at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan.

EV Avalanche you mean . Those headlights can barley see .
I’m sure it won’t be a popular opinion, but GM took the right path for the Silverado EV, model naming aside. Call it what you will, but I personally think Ford’s rushed “slap an EV powertrain and new grill onto an off-the-shelf F-150” approach will quickly seem dated and technologically inferior. I will not be in the market for one, but this is a great looking EV pickup. It clearly has the look of a fully engineered EV platform, whereas the F-150 Lighting looks like a bolt-on aftermarket attempt.
Buick City: I feel totally opposite. This thing is ugly and all the GM fans will scream bloody murder back at me, but the Ford F150 EV is so much better looking. What I don’t understand is why manufacturers feel they need to make EV’s look so much different from the rest.
The fact that this over-priced parking lot crawler has 24″ rims makes me laugh. What a joke. But GM will sell as many of these as they can to the wealthy while the average to below average income homes will be buying from other brands where we can afford it.
The Sierra EV will better align with traditional truck styling fans. It looks more like what I think you’re looking for.
You don’t have to get 24’s. Gas trucks have them too.
I used to agree with this approach, but it sure put them far behind and Ford is nearing completion of its vertically integrated 2nd gen design based off of what they learned from the Lightning. I expect Ford to begin offering this ground up iteration by the time GM begins ramping up in 2025/26. GM could have just added batteries to existing architectures while developing a new platform. This quick ‘stuffing batteries in’ approach works well for Hyundai-Kia, the upcoming ‘all new’ Kia EV9 notwithstanding (Pallisade/Telluride). Only the Ioniq 6 is purpose built – all others are platform sharing (Ioniq5, EV6, Kona, Genesis variants) and not nearly as efficient, but sell quite well.
Sorry to be corrective, but Hyundai’s new e-gmp ev platform is the company’s latest800v architecture. The first EV’s to be built on it is the Hyundai Ioniq5, KIA EV6, Genesis GV60 and the Ioniq6, as well as the soon to be released Inoniq7, KIA EV9, and Genesis GV90, all share the same 800v e-gmp platform. The older Niro and Kona share nothing with the e-gmp skateboard style system, and they have not the range nor the high speed charging capabilities of the 800v system.
Far behind Ford.? Since the electric F150 was introduced I’ve seen a total of 2. One of those was a showpiece at a golf course.
That should tell you something about the pricing & demand for EV pickups and large SUVs…..no?
@Buick City
I completely agree with you.
GM on paper has by far better BEV’s than Ford does but there is a HUGE but……can they actually build them?
So far it has been a colossal embarrassment to GM.
@chevyvsford……and wait til those owners figure out they too will have issues with longer term support of Fords uhum GEN1. GM is past that and just needs to get more of the vehicles out the door!
Totally agree. Ford’s designs inside and out are dated/cheap.
Headlights don’t “see” and this is a Silverado.
I like the direction this is going.
Hopefully the black bumper is cleaned up where it goes into the taillights. I don’t like the continuous black. Would like to see painted pieces surrounding the taillights.
The C pillar is taking on a look similar to the spy shots of the Traverse. Interesting. Would like to see a black painted roof to see how that compliments the C pillar.
Overall anxious for this to be available and see if they can actually produce in quantity.
Your point about “see if they can produce this in quantity” is the biggest question I have. To date, the only EV GM has demonstrated they can produce in any meaningful quantities has been the Chevy Bolt / Bolt EUV. In the Bolt’s case, it took them nearly 5 years to get to that point, and once they got to that point, they’ve promptly canceled the vehicle…
Another huge concern that still lingers IMO is towing. I/We understand the Silverado EV can tow plenty of weight and do it comfortably. However, how far of a distance are we talking? Let’s say its half the charge while towing “X” amount of weight. Realistically I’m okay with that considering most ICE trucks, with the exception of diesel, fall within those parameters. On the other hand though let’s say you drive as far as you can on a charge then you need to stop to plug in. Now a minor stop of 10-15 minutes for fuel, snacks, and restroom, turns into a 2 hour recharge . . . .
Man these real life pics make the front end look so much better. Depending on the price difference from the Sierra on the lower trims will determine which one I purchase.
In my humble opinion, this looks like the Saturn Relay of unibody pickups. While this isn’t an ugly design, it is hardly stirring any passion.
That thing is ugly. Did they hire the Honda Ridgeline design team for this gem 🙂 LOL
Is there a frunk and what is the cubic foot area? Could I sneak my grand kids into the drive-in in the frunk?
So does it really need to look like a Honda. Either the GM designers are really uninspired or management is killing the interesting designs. I agree that I don’t know why they need to look so different than the ICE models.
“Step-ups are mounted around the rockers”: that is, running boards. Trucks have gotten so tall that we need steps in bumpers and running boards to load them or get into them. No wonder it’s easy to hit pedestrians with them.
It’s smaller than the current Silverado. I parked next to it and compared.
Chevrolet can do better…
I like the chevy my friend likes the ford. thats why they build fords and chevys, they would both build more if they had the batteries to put in them. G M seems to be building and selling a lot over seas
