2024 Chevy Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 Edition Revealed

The NASCAR Garage 56 Camaro is set to make a spectacular high-octane debut this weekend as it prepares to compete in the storied 24 Hours of Le Mans, one of the planet’s most prestigious endurance motorsports events. To celebrate this event, GM has just revealed the limited-run 2024 Chevy Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 Edition.

With the 2024 model representing the last year of the Chevy Camaro as we know it, only 56 units of the Garage 56 Edition will be built, making it a seriously rare and collectible vehicle.

The GM Motorsport Design Studio worked to give the Chevy Camaro Garage 56 Edition race-car looks on a road car “without making the car look out of place on the street.” The Performance Design Studio at Chevrolet also contributed to developing the passenger version of the NASCAR Garage 56 Camaro.

The exterior of the production 2024 Chevy Camaro Garage 56 Edition includes the ZL1 1LE’s front fascia, along with race car-style dive planes. The decklid features a wicker bill spoiler echoing those found on NASCAR Cup vehicles.

The vehicle’s paint color is Riptide Blue Metallic (paint code GJV), a new introduction to the palette of the Chevy Camaro for 2024. The Garage 56 Edition features a white stripe running from the hood to the decklid with slim gold stripes as accents.

In addition to these race-inspired graphics, customers who buy a Chevy Camaro Garage 56 Edition will have the option to add one of three decals to their vehicle, all of which are based on decals appearing on the original race car. These include a NASCAR windshield header, number “24” door decals matching the race car’s identifying number, and Goodyear front wheel arch decals.

The Chevy Camaro Garage 56 Edition will also feature a plethora of badges unique to the special edition. Among others, the NASCAR 75th Anniversary emblem appears on the hood, while Garage 56 badges appear on the front fenders, floor mats, and steering wheel. Echoing the race car, the sail panels feature a Hendrick Motorsports badge.

For motivation, the 2024 Chevy Camaro Garage 56 Edition will cradle the supercharged GM 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine developing 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. Its wheels will come wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires similar to the tires used at Le Mans. Production is scheduled to begin later in 2023 and will take place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.

The Collector’s Edition in Panther Black Matte

As a reminder, the Garage 56 Edition is not the only special edition GM is planning to salute the Chevy Camaro’s final year in its current form. The 2024 Chevy Camaro Collector’s Edition is also slated for release, and will include both Coupe and Convertible configurations along with a range of other styling upgrades.

The ZL1 Collector’s Edition will also offer a unique paint option, the Panther Black Matte exterior color, which is tagged with paint code GNW.

  4. Doesn’t Chevy have to produce the Camaro to continue the car for NASCAR . Or has that changed with the new gen car?

      1. They had to produce so many in the old days to stay relevant. Race on Sunday, sell on Monday don’t mean sh@t anymore. All the previous cars were 2 doors as well. Stopped watching NASCAR the first time I saw a Camry on the track. 👎

      1. The car looks good. It’s a nice addition to a collection of camaros. I like the Riptide blue color The 90 camaro that I had was light metallic blue special ordered and I only seen one other car like it. The 2000 SLP SS that I had was special ordered with all available options and I wish that I had all of my camaros back. I hope they continue to make them.

  8. Now GM starts to whore out the Camaro after years of letting it simmer (no ads, no promos) According to all the press releases the Camaro is the best thing since sliced bread….BUT we aren’t going to make any more after January..WTF?

    1. This is a BAD mistake for GM to end Camaro. It’s the best car of the 3 muscle cars by far. I have driven all 3. I bought 3 total Camaro 2SS and they have been stellar cars. My current Daily driver is a 2020 Camaro 2SS w/ 10 speed tranny and I absolutely love it.
