Ever since its official debut back in October 2021, the 2023 Corvette Z06 has been universally praised for its tantalizing combination of handling prowess, a rev-happy drivetrain, and aggressive looks. Now, General Motors is spreading the C8 Z06 love abroad, as the Japanese market is set to receive the 2023 Z06 soon.
According to a report from webCG, The General presented the high-performance Vette to Japan during an event at the Fuji Speedway. Notably, all Japanese-spec 2023 Corvette Z06 units will be configured as range-topping 3LZ Coupes in right-hand-drive. Additionally, each C8 Z06 will be painted Black (color code GBA), and featuring items like Napa leather seating surfaces in Adrenaline Red with Black perforated sueded microfiber inserts, as well as Competition bucket seats and Bright Red brake calipers (RPO code J6F).
“First of all, we decided on only this specification in order to realize the introduction in Japan as soon as possible,” a General Motors Japan spokesperson was quoted as saying. “I made a combination that strongly reminds me of exciting driving.”
It’s worth noting that the two exterior pictures above aren’t perfectly representative of what Japan customers will receive. More specifically, these two Vettes are left-hand-drive units. However, the outboard exhaust is indicative of the Japanese-spec Z06.
In regard to powertrain, the Japanese 2023 Corvette Z06 will be slightly detuned as compared to the U.S.-spec model. This translates to 637 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, while U.S. Z06 units are rated at 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Despite the lower output rating, the Japanese-spec 5.5L LT6 V8 still spins to 8,500 rpm.
As can be expected from a highly desirable performance machine like the Corvette Z06, availability in the Japanese market will extremely limited. In fact, a lottery sales system will be used, and is set to go live later this year. Pricing will is currently scheduled to run 25 million Yen, or roughly $170,000 U.S.

Very good! GM at last will send RHD units to Japan, which will put them in line with other foreign manufacturers in that country.
I wonder if RHD units will make it to Australia and the UK?
Typical GM is exploring new markets and can’t even supply a market who has been loyal to the Corvette brand since its inception. There are dealers in Canada who won’t even take an order for an Eray! and a two wait for Z06.
Awesome GM, You cant provide adequate supply of Z06’s here in your back yard but you will supply other countries first ! What a joke of a car company .
I assume that RHD units will make it to anywhere that has GM dealerships and where it can pass emissions and safety requirements.
