For the new model year, the 2023 Chevy Colorado sees the introduction of an all-new generation that features a thorough overhaul of the exterior, interior, and powertrain. Now, GM Authority has learned that the next-gen midsizer’s Convenience Package III no longer includes alloy wheels as standard fare.
For orders placed from June 21st, 2023 onwards, the 18-inch Android Dark full gloss aluminum wheels (RPO code PZI) will no longer be included as part of the LT Convenience Package III (RPO code PDB). Instead, General Motors will offer the alloy wheels as a standalone option that requires choosing the LT Convenience Package III beforehand.
Essentially, this means that prospective buyers can option their 2023 Colorado with the LT Convenience Package III and keep the standard 17-inch Argent Metallic aluminum wheels (RPO code Q5W).
For reference, the LT Convenience Package III previously cost an extra $1,270, and is exclusively available on the LT trim level. This now-revised package includes (relevant RPO code in parenthesis):
- Evotex up-level seating (HXR)
- Driver seat back pocket (E90)
- Rear center armrest (DA5)
- Dual front console USB charger (UBI)
- Heated steering wheel (KI3)
- LED headlamps (T4L)
- LED daytime running lamps (T7E)
- LED taillamps (T93)
- 120V rear power outlet (KI6)
- 120V bed mounted power outlet (KC9)
- Blind Zone Steering Assist (UKI)
- Rear Cross Traffic Braking (UFB)
- Rear Park Assist (UD7)
- Heated outside Rearview Mirror (DLF)
The revision is expected to appear on the Chevrolet.com configurator by the end of June 2023.
As a reminder, the 2023 Chevy Colorado is available with two engine choices, including the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L2R gasoline motor, rated at 237 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine produces either 310 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque, or 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, depending on the tune. All 2023 Colorado units are equipped with an updated version of GM’s eight-speed automatic transmission.
Under the body panels, the 2023 Colorado rides on an updated variant of the GMT 31XX platform. Production kicked off at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri in January 2023.

If I may, shouldn’t this just say “no longer includes 18 inch wheels” instead of “no longer includes alloy wheels”? Both the 17 inch and 18 inch wheels are aluminum/alloy wheels so…it still comes with aluminum/alloy wheels.
More options are always better. In this case a chance to save a bit of money if you don’t want the alloy wheels.
They aren’t saying whether or not you will save money. The previous price was $1270. I don’t see a new price for the package without the upgraded tires, or the cost to replace the 17’s with 18’s. My guess is that you’ll pay the same $1270 without the 18’s, and then an additional up-charge for the 18’s.
Possibly a new strategy by GM to again raise the prices, but kinda hiding it from the customer.
