The 2023 Cadillac CT5-V adds three new exterior colors to its palette: Radiant Red Tintcoat, Argent Silver Metallic, and Midnight Steel Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new Steel hue.
Assigned RPO code GXU and touch-up paint code WA-138H, Midnight Steel Metallic is one of nine exterior colors offered on this performance-oriented variant of the CT5 luxury sedan, which include:
- Summit White

- Wave Metallic
- Electric Blue
- Rift Metallic
- Radiant Red Tintcoat (new for 2023)
- Argent Silver Metallic (new for 2023)
- Midnight Steel Metallic (new for 2023)
The Midnight Steel Metallic color is an extra-cost item that adds an additional $625 to the price of the luxury sedan and can be combined with all interior colorways.
For reference, here are all three available interior colorways offered on the 2023 CT5-V:

The 2023 Cadillac CT5-V arrived with just a handful of changes and updates over the 2022 model,  including a new Driver Assist Package as standard and Bronze Accent Package. However, the 2023 CT5 loses the Diamond Sky Special Edition Package, replacing it with the new CT5 Blue Accent package.
The 2023 CT5-V is powered by a higher-output version of the twin-turbo 3.0L V6 LGY, rated at 360 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque, and connects to the GM 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel-drive is standard and all-wheel-drive is optional.
The Cadillac CT5 rides on the GM Alpha 2 platform, which is shared with the Cadillac CT4. Production kicked off at the GM Lansing Grand River plant on July 18th, 2022. Production of the 2024 model year will start on July 10th, 2023.

Another one of the 50 shades of gray or silver
Looks good. Clean.
It would look better with white walls.
Yippee – another funeral color – how exciting
Don’t know how you call a light blue color midnight or steel. It definitely isn’t exciting.
Hope this color is available on the refreshed CT5.
I like it!
