The 2023 Chevy Colorado ushers in a brand-new third generation for the midsize pickup, bringing with it a variety of interesting updates and changes. That includes a completely overhauled cabin, and now, we’re taking a closer look as we go hands-on with the 2023 Chevy Colorado Trail Boss interior in the following exclusive GM Authority video.
The video, hosted by GM Authority Executive Editor Alex Luft, is a bit over 18 minutes long, and includes a deep dive into all the important features and design points of the new 2023 Chevy Colorado Trail Boss.
From the off, Luft points out that the 2023 Chevy Colorado Trail Boss interior is essentially carried over from the base-level Work Truck (WT) trim, including the materials, colorways, and more. As such, much of the surfaces are hard plastic – including the knee pads on the doors and along the outboard panel of the center console.
“It might be possible to avoid much contact with the knee rests, but it’s downright impossible to avoid contact with them when you’re driving off-road,” Luft explains. Certainly something to consider in the off-road-oriented 2023 Chevy Colorado Trail Boss.
Moving on, we find Jet Black cloth upholstery, with leatherette offered as an optional upgrade. Further standout features include an 8-inch digital instrument cluster and 11.3-inch center screen.
Indeed, there’s quite a few interesting details to pick through, so hit play on the video below for a full deep-dive tour of the 2023 Chevy Colorado Trail Boss interior:
For those readers who may be unaware, the 2023 Chevy Colorado features two engine options, including the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L2R gasoline engine, and the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine, the latter of which is available in two variants. The 2023 Chevy Colorado Trail Boss is equipped as standard with the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B Turbo Plus variant as standard, which is rated at 310 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque.
Under the body panels, the 2023 Chevy Colorado rides on the updated GM 31XX-2 platform, while vehicle assembly takes place at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri.

Folks, this is very simple: this article is about the interior of the Colorado Trail Boss. It is NOT about availability, or lack thereof.
Feel free to start a thread in the GM Authority forum about that, but this is NOT the place.
Keep it on topic please and thank you!

Finally. Thank you Alex. Some people (Rob?) can’t lack the common sense to understand that the world does not revolve around their personal issues surrounding availability… and then come here to demand info with a massive sense of entitlement. Get a grip, “Rob”
As for this trail boss interior, yeah the knee rests and elbow rests on the doors need to get softer. I drove my first one of these yesterday and can not bring myself to get this unfinished interior. At the same time, I don’t like the Z71 with the better interior as much as the trail boss. Hoping that Chevy is listening…
Vee8 by the way, cool screen name as far lack of common sense to understand the lack of availability and my personal issues. I truly have no personal issues I have a vehicle I’m in no rush. I guess you don’t really get the point the fact is this entire rolout has been a disaster at best it’s not me I’m speaking on behalf of all of the other people that come to the site and complain about the scenario I am not in a scenario I have a vehicle. If I don’t get the vehicle, I could care less, but the fact is GM has really made it difficult for a lot of people they shouldn’t be promising things that they can’t produce that’s just my opinion as far as the interior here I truly like the interior better on the Denali just looks nicer. I am kind of a little bit saddened that the cab is not as wide I thought maybe with the new redesign they would make the cab little bit higher and wider in the backseats be more user-friendly instead of lifting the vehicle higher off the ground I think they should probably make the off-road version for people that do off-road, but for someone who is going to buy a Denali or maybe just a standard Truck it need not to be so high off the ground and give him other options. You know kind of critique your truck line up to the consumer whatever happened to taking care of the consumer and what their needs and wants are sad part is it’s gotten to the point that now manufactures put out a product and don’t care what the consumer wants they put out was more profitable for them and too bad what you want that’s where at least I give credit to the European car market and don’t have to buy certain things on a car that automatically get put into a package you can say hey I just want my side mirrors painted black or painted the color of the car or just put carbon fiber on them. Yes it may cost more but at least it gives the consumer an option.
“what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.”
I didn’t think you would get it. It’s really for the people that are normal and can understand the scenario that some people are in. It’s all good you can always go back to school and learn remember you’re never too young to learn.
Still think your screen name is pretty cool
And again, you are called out specifically for not bringing this up and what do you do? Make it about you again with false info. The roll out has been far from a failure, tons are in people hands and have been for a while now. Just because you don’t have yours doesn’t mean others don’t. You are trying to speak on behalf of a small group. The forums are littered with people who have no issue waiting while others have gotten there’s. Either way, stop posting about, it won’t change anything and it clogs up messages (exactly as just happened here).
It’s obvious that Rob…
a) Does not know how to follow basic instructions outlined by Alex, and
b) Has never lived through a GM vehicle launch
Worse yet, he proceeds to demand from GMA more and more and more info, and does this in a pompous prick fashion, as if GMA owes him something. Pray tell, how much are you paying the people at GMA to consume their material Rob? Oh right, nothing… and they owe you nothing.
You are absolutely right they don’t owe me anything, but if you’re putting out a product that gives out information about GM vehicles, you would think that they would actually come up with some investigative reporting but I’m fine no worries gentleman I could care less I just feel bad for the people that are paying for rental cars while their car is being built And of course being delayed and just because GM is infamous for this. Does it mean you should expect it whatever happened to customer service. And how ironic you make a hypocritical statement in that I don’t pay for the GM authority website but many people are paying for a vehicle that they cannot get and they are holding a deposit for it, so I guess your argument was shut down
Investigative reporting? It’s literally what the authority do on the daily… more than anywhere else in the auto world that I’ve seen. Just because they don’t report the narrative that you want doesn’t mean they’re not doing it.
Get it through your head: there is nothing to investigate about these trucks. They’re shipping… it’s a manual process, and people are getting them. GM doesn’t just flick a wand and all trucks are instantly shipped. This isn’t bits or bytes they’re shipping.
On a personal level, you could be thankful and appreciative that GMA exists and does very good work. Instead you chose to be a pompous, entitled jacka$$, trying to speak on behalf of anyone and demand that they invent stories. I haven’t seen you say “thank you” to these people even once. What the male version of Karen these days? Is it Ken?
Regardless, what do you have to say about the interior of this truck? Don’t take it on some tangent, stick to the topic.
There is common sense not not making it about me. I don’t really care. It doesn’t have an affect on me. I feel bad for the people that have run out their leases, and now have to rent a car while they’re waiting for this truck. It’s quite evident you have no common sense if you went to some of the articles that have anything to do with the canyon or the Colorado you will see everyone complains so I don’t understand where you get this notion that it’s not been a bad rule out but again you have no common sense maybe your username should be common sense less I mean, come on if you don’t see that there’s no way I can make you understand
