The 2024 Chevy Silverado HD ushers in a model refresh that includes a wealth of changes and updates, with new styling, an overhauled cabin, the latest tech goodies, a new off-road trim level, and powertrain upgrades all making the cut. The refreshed Silverado HD was initially introduced with 14 different wheel options, but now, GM Authority has learned that one of those wheels is currently available to order.
The wheel design in question is called the 20-inch Chrome aluminum wheel, and is normally available as optional extra.
The 20-inch Chrome aluminum wheel for the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD is tagged with RPO code SHL, and was previously offered as an LPO-level option, which means the wheels were installed when the truck was delivered to the dealer, rather than when the truck was originally produced at the factory. Normally, the 20-inch Chrome aluminum wheel for the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD is offered as an optional upgrade for LT, LTZ, and High Country trim levels, and is priced at $3,995.
The 2024 Chevy Silverado HD was originally introduced with a total of 14 wheel options, with wheel sizing ranging between 17 inches and 20 inches in diameter. Five of the wheels were offered as LPO-level options, while the remaining nine wheels were offered as factory installed options.
As for the power spec, the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD is equipped as standard with the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine. Output is rated at 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. Additionally, customers can also opt for the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine, which is now rated at 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque following the recent 2024 model-year refresh. Diesel-powered Chevy Silverado HD units were rated at 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque prior to the refresh. Both powerplants connect to the Allison-branded 10-speed automatic transmission.
Under the skin, the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD rides on a more-capable variant of the GM T1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Flint plant in Michigan and GM Oshawa plant in Canada.
