Take A Walk Around The 2023 Chevy Colorado WT: Video

The all-new 2023 Chevy Colorado has made splashdown, ushering in the pickup’s latest generation with an official reveal last July. Updates over the preceding 2022 model year include new exterior styling, a new cabin, a new powertrain, and a new trim level lineup. Critically, the third-gen 2023 Chevy Colorado once again offers the base-level WT (Work Truck) trim level, as featured in the following GM Authority walkaround video.

The front end of the all-new 2023 Chevy Colorado WT.

Hosted by GM Authority Executive Editor Alex Luft, the video is roughly eight minutes long, and highlights the exterior design and some of the features of the new third-generation 2023 Chevy Colorado WT.

As covered in the video, the 2023 Chevy Colorado WT is equipped as standard with Ultra Silver Metallic Steel wheels, which are sized at 17 inches by 8 inches and tagged with RPO code RD6. Notably, these wheels are only available on the WT trim level. This particular model is covered in Black paint, which is tagged with paint code GBA.

Like the rest of the 2023 Chevy Colorado lineup, the WT trim level presents a new front end complete with a restyled fascia. As Luft points out, the grille on the 2023 Chevy Colorado lineup WT is similar to that of the LT and Trail Boss trim levels, and incorporates quite a few unfinished black plastic trim bits. The grille is composed of an attractive geometric pattern and side-mounted “nostrils,” while the upper grille bar is punctuated by a prominent Chevy Bow Tie badge.

Front tow hooks are included as standard for four-wheel drive models. Up top, we see new surface development for the hood, while forward illumination is provided by halogen lighting elements.

The video does a great job going over all the important exterior features and elements on the 2023 Chevy Colorado WT, so hit play to take the tour for yourself:

As a reminder, the 2023 Chevy Colorado WT is equipped as standard with the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L2R gasoline engine, rated at 237 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque, while the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine (Turbo Plus variant) is optional, doling out 310 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque. The second-gen GM eight-speed automatic transmission handles cog swaps, while the updated GM 31XX-2 platform provides the underpinnings. Production takes place at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri.

  1. Saw a black Trail Boss in person yesterday afternoon at our local dealer, instantly fell in love! I can’t remember the last time GM released a new truck that didn’t have to “grow” on me.
You have to see one in person! They are sharp!!

  2. Hey Rob, why not you just take a moment and reflect on what is going on in this world and realize it isn’t just GM having issues with staffing and transporting and that they still have chip problems. It has been covered numerous times, just read already. You bought a car at this time and probably loaded it up with features that are constrained, then you want to put blame on others. Hello, McFly…

    1. Common sense that’s funny you use that as your name but apparently you don’t have any OK so let me make sure I thoroughly understand your argument correctly a car manufacturer designed the car put options that you can put on that car and it’s supposed to give you a delivery date now you supposedly common sense are telling me that because I loaded it up with features. I’m not able to get that vehicle and they can’t give me a timeframe. OK now Mr. common sense it’s time to go back to the field and be the sheep you are you are kidding me that is hilarious.

  3. Overall, GM vastly improved this truck and even this base WT doesn’t look sh!t. I understand the economics (too low volume, sold the plant in Thailand making the 2.8, etc.) and emission constraints, but I wish they would offer a diesel variant (3.0). Nothing wrong with the 2.5 H.O. as far as HP and torque, but the fuel economy is marginally better than the prior V6 on the ZR2 with 33’s. My current 2020 ZR2 diesel on 33’s still averages 20/21 MPG with mostly brisk city driving – mid 20’s on the highway if I’m close to the speed limit. A friend with a similar V6 ZR2 on 33’s gets about 15MPG city and 19-20 on the highway which is marginally better than a 2023 Taco TRD on 33’s.

  4. My son has an ordered 2023 Colorado LT. It’s sitting on a parking lot near the assembly plant waiting for electronics to be installed so it can ship. It’s being listed as in transit, forty five days and counting. Wonder if all versions of Colorado take so long to ship because the dealer says he has no idea when it will show up.

  5. Ordered my 2023 Colorado (Radiant Red 2LT) in Dec 2022 – “Accepted” by GM. My Dealer can show me that it was “Produced” on Mar 31 and marked “delayed” with no details – sitting in the yard. They have had words with their GM zone manager – but to no avail. Is it a chip thing? (we need to quit using that excuse – others have found ways around this) Or is Mary Barra trying to work out a new “just in time” inventory scheme (just late). I see the radiant red truck at various blogs and car shows on-line – maybe mine is in a show somewhere? My sales guy moved to Infinity as GM had no inventory to sell and his daughter needs to go to college. (Mary is messing with the circle of life). Just some details would be nice… I’m willing to drive to Wentzville (14hr) and pick it up – if that is an option. Mary, Get out of your office and push!
