There’s no question that the GMC Hummer EV Pickup is a visually striking vehicle, combining futuristic, chiseled lines with chunky off-roader proportions to create something truly unique. That visual impact extends to the lighting elements, which are enhanced quite a bit when viewed after dark. Now, GM Authority is providing this nighttime lighting tour of the GMC Hummer EV Pickup in the following exclusive video.
Hosted by GM Authority Executive Editor Alex Luft, the video is a little under 11-minutes long, and includes a full overview of the GMC Hummer EV Pickup’s various lighting elements. This particular example is the 2022 GMC Hummer EV Pickup Edition 1.
The video kicks off with the headlight animation that’s displayed when the vehicle is locked and unlocked, showing a swiping yellow light across the top of the signature light. The swipe animation is shown twice when unlocked, and once when locked. A similar animation is used for the turn signals, while the hazard lights blink on and off, rather than sweep side to side.
We also get to see the daytime running lights activated, which include a solid strip of white light across the nose that’s bookended by orange side markers, and a trio of orange roof marker lights as well. The Hummer logo is seen in graphics within the center lighting.
As Luft points out, the GMC Hummer EV Pickup incorporates a two-tiered lighting setup, with lighting signatures up, and the primary forward lights located lower in the bumper. The primary headlights are found in trapezoidal housings and shine bright with both high and low beam functionality.
There’s plenty to go over when it comes to the GMC Hummer EV Pickup’s lighting setup, so hit play for the full rundown:
As a reminder, the GMC Hummer EV Pickup Edition 1 features a three-motor powertrain good for roughly 1,000 horsepower and 1,200 pound-feet of torque, catapulting the off-roader to 60 mph in just 3 seconds. An 800-horsepower three-motor powertrain and 625-horsepower two-motor powertrain are also available elsewhere in the lineup.
All GMC Hummer EV models (including the SUV) incorporate GM Ultium batteries and GM Ultium drive motor tech, while under the body panels, the GM BT1 platform provides the underpinnings. Production takes place at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan.
