Stay Safe With This Armored 2003 Chevy Suburban Up For Sale

A zombie apocalypse can be exhilarating, or quite scary, to think about for some folks. For those who may find themselves in the latter camp, be sure to check out this armored 2003 Chevy Suburban for all your armageddon-related driving needs.

Although this particular 2003 Suburban may not appear to be all that modified from the outside, don’t be fooled, as the stock appearance is only skin-deep. Outfitted by Scaletta Moloney Armoring of Chicago, Illinois, this full-size SUV features multilayered ballistic glass, an armored roof, doors, and pillars, an armored dual-battery system, steel mesh tailpipe protection, and a locking gas cap.

While the list of armor-related upgrades is certainly impressive, the foundation for this zombie-plowing machine isn’t too shabby either. The naturally aspirated 8.1L V8 L18 gasoline engine, rated at 325 horsepower and 447 pound-feet of torque, provides the grunt, while the GM four-speed automatic transmission delivers said motivation to the ground. Four-wheel drive and an Autotrac transfer case are equipped as well.

Additional features include 16-inch alloy wheels, running boards, rear barn-style doors, a receiver hitch, a power-adjustable driver seat, a Pioneer touchscreen head unit, multi-zone climate control, and second-row captain’s chairs.

Overall, the ad for the vehicle – which is posted for auction on Bring A Trailer – states that this 2003 Suburban is in great shape considering its intention. That being said, the selling dealer did concede that the hood has been repainted, and there are scratches on several body panels. In addition, the Carfax report notes that there was an accident in March 2011 that resulted in damage to the side of the SUV.

With roughly 89,000 miles on the odometer – and a clean Ohio title to boot – we want to know, dear reader, what do you think of this 2003 Chevy Suburban? Do it’s capable of handing a zombie apocalypse? Let us know in the comment section below!

    1. Yea all those predominantly liberal democrat cities that wanted to defund the police lol. Fun fact: all the cities with the most gun laws are the most crime ridden. Look at Chicago, it has some of the strictest laws on firearms but yet one of the most dangerous cities in the United States. Yea I know let the hate comments pour in.

  7. I use to arrange for a few of these type of vehicles for our international construction sites. You could customize. Money was not a big issue. When I visited, I always made sure I rode in the enhanced vehicles with the retired special forces guys. One of them was tested. Blown off road and windshield failed. Vehicle ended up in ditch and terrorist opened fire. Driver lost his life. My work friend survived. He said it was like being in a war battle (5-10 minutes felt like an hour).

Put a new engine in this bad boy with some HP.
