Some 2022 GMC Canyon Units Were Delivered Without Their Off-Road Sport Bar

The 2022 GMC Canyon was the eighth model year for the second-gen pickup, arriving just before the debut of an all-new third generation for the 2023 model year. Notably, some units of the 2022 GMC Canyon were delivered to customers without certain accessories installed. Now, however, GM Authority has learned that these accessories are available for installation at dealers via a new Customer Satisfaction Program.

The Sport Bar offered for the 2022 GMC Canyon.

The missing accessories include the off-road sport bar, which is tagged with RPO code SBY and was offered as an optional extra on 2022 GMC Canyon Elevation Standard, Elevation, and AT4 trim levels, but not the 2022 GMC Canyon Denali. The off-road sport bar (RPO code SBY) was included and only available in conjunction with the Sport Bar and Lighting Package (RPO code PCL).

Further missing features included the off-road lights feature, which was tagged with RPO code S3X and was also offered as optional on 2022 GMC Canyon Elevation Standard, Elevation, and AT4 trim levels, but not the 2022 GMC Canyon Denali. The off-road lights feature (RPO code S3X) was also included and only available in conjunction with the Sport Bar and Lighting Package (RPO code PCL).

To note, the Sport Bar and Lighting Package (RPO code PCL) was made unavailable last September, and remained unavailable for the remainder of the GMC Canyon’s 2022 model year, per previous GM Authority coverage.

Now, these missing features are available for installation via a new GM Customer Satisfaction Program, or CSP. The program is tagged with CSP number N222382630, and provides installation of the missing features free of charge, for customers who took delivery of their vehicle and had already paid for them.

For those who may be unaware, the 2022 GMC Canyon was available with a trio of engine options, including the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGZ gasoline engine, the naturally aspirated 2.5L I4 LCV gasoline engine, and the 2.8L I4 LWN turbodiesel Duramax engine. Under the skin, the 2022 GMC Canyon rides on the GM 31XX platform, while production took place at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri.
