While the 2023 Corvette Z06 is already an exhilarating performance machine thanks to its high-revving engine and dynamic chassis, prospective customers have the option to check off the Z07 package for the ultimate track-day experience. Now, new statistics reveal that one-fifth of 2023 Z06 units built were equipped with the high-performance Z07 track pack.
According to numbers revealed at the recent 2023 Michigan NCM Bash – which itself took place at the National Corvette Museum – exactly 20 percent of C8 Z06 units manufactured as of March 2023 included the Z07 Performance Package.
For those who may be unaware, the Z07 package features a suite of items to take the C8 Z06 Corvette’s performance prowess to the next level, and includes the following:
- Carbon fiber aero package with larger front splitter, front-corner dive planes, a rear wing and underbody strakes
- Unique FE7 suspension with specific Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 calibrations
- Michelin Sport Cup 2 R ZP tires developed specifically for the Z06
- Available carbon fiber wheels that deliver a 41-pound reduction in unsprung mass
- Brembo carbon ceramic brake system featuring larger, 15.7-inch-diameter front rotors and 15.4-inch-diameter rear rotors
In addition, the Z07 is available for both Coupe and Convertible configurations, and can be optioned on any trim level for an additional $8,995. However, it’s worth noting that the $8,495 Carbon Flash (RPO code CFZ) painted aero kit and wing, or the $10,495 visible carbon fiber (RPO code $10,495) aero kit and wing, must also be optioned.
As a reminder, the 2023 Corvette Z06 is powered by the naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 gasoline engine, rated at 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Said output is routed to the rear wheels via the GM eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Under the body panels, the C8 Z06 rides on the GM Y2 platform, which underpins all C8 Corvette models. Production takes place exclusively at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.

And 90 percent or more of those will never see a track unless it’s from the parking lot.
VioerACR… who cares it’s like having an 1970 Chevelle SS 454 STATE 3… you can take it to the drag races or just drive it normally… It your car your choice and I see your you name “ViperACR” those where and are awesome cars to so who cares if you never take to a track you can have fun on a mountain road, open empty highway or just cruising and admire people looking at your hot ride of a car! 👍🏻👍🏻
I wasn’t criticizing and agree with you 100 percent. Just stating a fact because of the author’s comment of “…..for the ultimate track-day experience.” No judgment….I’d love to own a ZO6 with or without the Z07 package! I’d be tearing up the Texas Hill Country in one.
C Man,
Thank you. My thoughts exactly!
Yeah $20 Grand it just sucks you can’t get the rear wing without the rest of the pkg., yeah I know I can get an aftermarket but it would be nice to be able to have the factory installed wing, at least if anything went wrong it’s under factory warranty.
Sorry bout that ViperACR but there are a lot of negative people who comment on this side I guess I felt you where complaining… But still I want to see what’s done when the ZR1 is shown tous without camo !
As an avid GM Performance collector, I am still waiting to get my hands on a C8 Z06, but either you can’t find one or they are marked up by 100%. Buffoonery!
Just get in line or pay the markup. I’ve been in line for 3 years and my dealer said that I should get an early 2024, and at list price.
I was looking at a local Chevy dealer’s inventory in early April. I noticed he had one Corvette in stock, and it was a Z06 Conv 3LZ with all the options (carbon fiber, Brembo brakes, etc.) plus a couple of dealer installed options like the Premium Indoor car cover, Red Corvette Script along with the Black Wheel Locks. Total Vehicle Price on the factory window sticker was only $171.735. The following week I checked again, and this dealer had no Corvettes in stock.
