Here Is The 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X: Video

General Motors officially pulled the cover off the 2024 GMC Sierra HD last October, revealing a refresh that includes new exterior styling, an overhauled cabin space, powertrain changes, and a new trim level lineup. The debut of the refreshed 2024 GMC Sierra HD also included the announcement of the new GMC Sierra HD AT4X, a more-capable off-roader variant of the heavy duty pickup truck. Now, GM has finally unveiled the 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X.

Joining the GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X and GMC Canyon AT4X, the 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X seeks to balance off-road capability with smooth on-road handling, a luxurious and comfortable cabin, and a wealth of trailering technology.

To help tackle the trail, the 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X features a factory-installed 1.5-inch suspension lift and Multimatic DSSV dampers, as well as a rear e-locking differential (yes, just the one), specific front upper and lower control arms, and specific steering knuckles. Large 35-inch Goodyear Territory tires roll in the corners, while a beefy steel transfer case skid plate and aluminum front skid plate help protect vital mechanical bits underneath.

The 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X also features a new Off-Road Mode that modifies settings for the brakes, traction control, stability control, throttle, and transmission, providing “better off-road control and performance.”

Standard spec under the hood is once again the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, which is rated at a maximum of 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. The 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine is optional, producing 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque following the recent 2024 model-year refresh. Both powerplants mate to the Allison-branded 10-speed automatic transmission.

The 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X also features an available 18,500-pound max trailering capacity. Customers are offered the ProGrade Trailering System, which incorporates a wealth of tech features to make trailering easier and safer, including the Transparent Trailer View for Gooseneck and Fifth Wheel Trailering, and Adaptive Cruise Control with Trailering.

Look for the 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X to arrive in dealers this fall.
