General Motors has issued a service update for certain units of the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 pickup truck due to a problem related to the endgate cable.
Affected vehicles may have a condition where the incorrect endgate cable was installed. Certified GM technicians will be instructed to inspect affected vehicles, and replace the endgate cable as necessary. GM estimates that it should techs roughly 25 minutes to complete this fix.
According to GM, only eight vehicles are believed to be affected by this recall. As a result, The General has recommended that dealers do not order the required parts for shelf stock.
GM will notify owners of affected vehicles with letters and instruct them to make an appointment with their dealer. My 2025 dropped twice. One time was on my trailer, Jack. I’ve gone through through the process GM required to repair it and they have claimed there is nothing wrong with my truck and refused to pay for the repair of my tailgate. Lawyer is next.
