As previously reported by GM Authority, General Motors recently began activating Super Cruise and HD Surround Vision on the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq via a software update. Now, it appears as though a small number of early Lyriq units are experiencing an issue with this activation.
GM Authority has learned that select 2023 Cadillac Lyriq models need to have their Image Processing Control Module replaced in order to complete the activation of Super Cruise (RPO code UXL) and HD Surround Vision (RPO code UXP). Tagged with program number N222392961, this Customer Satisfaction Program will be performed by certified dealers, and will be available until May 31st, 2025.
As some background on the technology itself, Super Cruise and HD Surround Vision were standard features on 2023 Cadillac Lyriq Debut Edition examples, as well as non-Debut Edition variants of the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq Luxury RWD and 2023 Cadillac Lyriq Luxury AWD models.
At the time of delivery, Lyriq units had both technologies deactivated, and were labeled as such with RPO codes R6I and R6X. This means that although the hardware for these features may have been installed, the software required for activation was not.
Then, just a few months ago, Super Cruise and the HD Surround Vision system were made available via a software update at the dealership that included reprogramming the Image Processing Module, and if necessary, the short-range radar sensors as well. Tagged with Customer Satisfaction Program number is N222392960, this update is not accessible via an over-the-air update at home.
Looking forward, all 2024 Cadillac Lyriq trims – excluding the starting Tech – will feature HD Surround Vision as standard. Meanwhile, Super Cruise will be equipped as standard affair on 2024 Lyriq models configured in the Luxury 2, Luxury 3, Sport 2, and Sport 3 trim levels.

all 1,200 of them that are on the roads?
No just a select few. Most have gotten Super Cruise Installed.
This was partially the reason the Lyriq rollout was so slow. The fixes were intended to be OTA, when it was discovered it couldn’t be done that way, production was held up.
So much for OTA. I guess GM is still behind a 10 year old Tesla.
Yeh….sitting on the cars to ensure no quality issues really paid off for GM and Cadillac. More like they did not even have the cars to deliver in the first place and I don’t trust VIN numbers to accurately reflect how many cars are built by a manufacturer.
OK,great. So now to it the 2024 XT5 and make I available in this country along with China.
My software update went well. However, the update did not include the surround vision recorder. My dealer has no idea when that update is coming. I was in an accident last year (in another vehicle) and was able to establish the fault of the other driver because the accident was recorded by my dashcam. I feel naked without a dashcam and need to know if the update is coming soon or I should install one. Someone posted online that Cadillac has decided to forego the recorder on the 2023 Lyriq but I can’t get Cadillac to confirm or deny the accuracy of that report. Any news on that????
