GM DMAX Engine Plant In Ohio Idled After Fatal Shooting

The GM DMAX Moraine engine plant in Ohio has been temporarily idled following a fatal shooting incident late Thursday evening on May 18th, 2023.

According to a report from AP News, a feud over a woman led one man to fatally shoot another man, and then subsequently shoot himself in the head. “This was a feud between the two men, apparently over a female,” Moraine Police Sergeant Andrew Parish was quoted as saying.

It’s worth noting that the woman in question also works at the engine plant, however, it currently isn’t clear if she was physically present during the shooting.

Unfortunately, a third employee was also struck during the altercation, possibly by a stray bullet as the aggressor fired off more than 12 rounds from a handgun. He is currently being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a local facility.

“[He’s] just in pain and traumatized, because he actually saw the dude shoot the other dude,” the third employee’s girlfriend was quoted as saying. “He thought it was over. He thought he was about to lose his life.”

Two other people also reported injuries unrelated to the shooting itself, as they were supposedly harmed during a stampede of workers trying to exit the factory.

As of the time of this writing, the shooter is listed in critical, but stable condition following surgery for his self-inflicted injuries. According to officials, he was found alert and conscious when police arrived at the factory.

Sergeant Parish also stated that multiple magazines with live ammunition were recovered following the incident, and that it is currently unclear if the shooter reloaded his weapon. Thus far, no charges have been filed, but the investigation is currently ongoing. Police searched the shooter’s house, but haven’t released details on what evidence – if any – they found. In addition, they have yet to release the shooter’s identity.

No wonder America had the highest Covid deaths in the world. 2 million lost vs 10,000 in Australia.
Osama Bin Laden would be so proud to see how much Americans have adopted terrorism into their culture & lives.

Two drama kings went at it in a plant in America and shooting took place. In a Holden plant, the same killing could happen with a screwdriver in the neck, or a breakover bar to the skull.

    1. Just one old man’s opinion but a lot of what is going on is a breakdown of what I have heard called “the social contract”.

As recently as 20 years ago, NO one shrieked and screamed, and threw furniture, condiment racks and napkin dispensers around a Micky Ds over cold French fries.

I see FAR more brake-checking going on today than only a few years ago, over nothing.

“Karens” were pretty much a curiosity, generally limited to elderly women whose children never call (they wonder why), have few if any friends left (and wonders why), and has a lot of cats.

Have I an answer? None I care to share. I am just glad I live where there is still some civility, lots of manners, and a slow pace. I am also glad I am old.

  7. I live in central Ohio and there are very few women that are worth the mania to kill someone over. My organization hired a new employee about a year ago. We now have 2 women under 200 pounds in my building. And all are mom’s. A friend in Chicago once told me after visiting Match.com that my city has the ugliest women they’d ever seen. I could not argue.
