GM Design Team Releases Buick Envista Sketches

General Motors recently pulled the sheets on the 2024 Buick Envista, a new premium crossover set for sale in North American markets, including the U.S. The 2024 Buick Envista presents a sleek, stylish exterior, and now, the GM Design team is showing off some of the early concept sketches that provided the inspiration for the final product.

The early Buick Envista sketches were published to social media, including the GM Design Instagram feed (@generalmotorsdesign).

Highlights include the early Buick Envista exterior concept, the interior concept, and images of the GM Design team hard at work turning the sketches into something more tangible using full-scale clay models.

As is usually the case, the early vehicle sketches and concepts are highly stylistic and incorporate greatly exaggerated features when compared to the final product. However, the various design elements are still present and accounted for between the sketches and production vehicle, thus providing us with an interesting look at the process of creating a new General Motors design.

Some of the highlights include thin lighting elements that are located in the corners of the front fascia, drawing back in sharp angles towards the fenders and shoulder line. The central front intake is horizontally oriented in a geometric shape, enhancing the natural visual width of the vehicle. The production vehicle offers 18-inch and 19-inch wheel options.

The early interior sketches show a horizontally oriented infotainment layout with multiple screens located behind the steering wheel and on the center console. The production vehicle incorporates 19 diagonal inches of combined LCD screens, including an 11-inch diagonal infotainment screen. The lines are smooth and rounded, creating a futuristic ambience.

As a reminder, the 2024 Buick Envista cradles the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH gasoline engine, which is rated at a maximum of 136 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. Pricing starts at $23,495, with orders opening up later this summer.

  3. If that nice wide look front end made it to production the cars and SUVs would look a lot better! Still it’s a nice sketch. 👍

  4. These sketches serve only to highlight what a disappointment the production version turned out to be. They are idiots to release these and call attention to how bland and underwhelming the actual product is. Who the heck is running buick marketing?

  5. I have been a Buick follower long before I could drive.
    Over the years I have owned 5 Riviera’s, 2 Lacrosse’s, 2 LeSabre 400’s.
I also have worked at 2 dealers turning wrenches on these cars for 48 years.
I am disappointed and fed up with the SUV’s being forced down our throats all the whyle we get glimpses of the redesigned LaCrosses being marketed only in China 😖😖
