Get Some Attention In This Supercharged 1981 Cadillac Limo

Limousines are great at transporting large groups of people, and garnering plenty of attention while doing it. With this in mind, quarter-mile times aren’t typically of great importance when building a limo. However, this particular Cadillac limo has been built to take occupants to their destination in style, and at great speeds thanks to its supercharged powerplant.

While the striking red and white paint job is certainly one of the first features of this 1981 Cadillac Fleetwood to stand out, the enormous blower peeking out from under the hood is difficult to overlook as well. Power is provided by a supercharged 454ci V8 gasoline engine, with also features dual four-barrel carburetors and the aforementioned air intake. A rebuilt GM TH400 three-speed automatic transmission directs the power to the massive 33×21.5-inch drag tires.

Built back in 1984 by National Coach Engineering, Ltd. of Port Sanilac, Michigan, the interior of this limousine is not to be outdone by the powertrain. The entire interior is finished in red, and features two front bucket seats in the forward cabin, along with four forward-facing rear buckets in the rear passenger area. Additional features include four-point harnesses, power windows, aftermarket gauges, a floor-mounted Hurst shifter, Vintage Air climate control, a chrome roll cage, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, a 9-inch television, a VCR, a graphic equalizer, and a dry bar with glassware.

A white vinyl roof, a rear wing, and a tubbed rear end finish out the interior and exterior modifications.

Almost comically, this Fleetwood limo also features an 85 mph speedometer. According to the listing on Bring a Trailer, this vehicle has not been driven since 2014. In addition, a Carfax report notes that the limo has “Exceeds Mechanical Limits Title Issued” and “Mileage Inconsistency” notations, along with a duplicate Colorado title.

  2. Being the owners of a 2006 STS-V SC, we love seeing articles like this! Of course, we realize that this is a small world of those Supercharged beasts, but they really stop the show!

  7. There’s nothing funny about this build. Hot Rodding is a serious business that many individuals are into as with all the many thousands of other automotive creations being built every day. This pro-street Caddy Limo is just another of our vehicular personality reflections. This thing was built back at the beginning of the Pro-street trend which is still going strong today. It was more for business marketing than anything and even now it works.

  8. I personally love it but would prefer it with a more traditional Fleetwood color that would prompt a double take if you saw it cruising down the street.
