Unfortunately, the “car wreck at a car meet” thing is a meme now, and way too many people feel obliged to try their hand at it. Usually, the formula works like this – high-powered, rear-wheel drive car gets goosed, tires break traction, and car exits road. Such is the case with the following viral video showing a Chevy Camaro Convertible following the formula to a tee.
The video opens at a four-way intersection, where we see a red Chevy Camaro drop top in the middle of a left-hand turn. The driver mashes the throttle halfway through the corner, causing the front end to lose grip, resulting in understeer. The car upshifts, and we see weight transition back and forth across the suspension before the rear end starts to burn rubber.
This is usually the part where things go wrong. As the rear end swings around, the driver snaps off the throttle, sending the weight back over the front end and causing the rear end to shimmy back the other direction. The driver seals his fate by tapping the brakes before mashing the throttle again.
By this time, the Chevy Camaro is already headed in the wrong direction, and there really isn’t anything that can be done to save the slide. The Chevy Camaro hops the curb and the rear end swings back around again. As the car moves laterally, we see it slam into a tree, with the driver’s side door making a sickening “snap” noise in the process. The wreck continues down a small grassy hill before stopping in front of a wall.
Clearly, this is the wrong way to exit a car meet, but at this point, it’s just way too common of an occurrence. Hopefully, the driver and passenger were uninjured in the stunt. Either way, let the video serve as a lesson on why this sort of driving belongs on the track.

Too much hp, not enough brains.
Guy driving = Idiot. Guy taking picture, idiot + coward = a** h0le.
If they would have just straightened it out first…
You never mash the throttle in the middle of a turn unless you are in a parking lot, you cannot correct fast enough. You only mash the throttle while stopped or moving straight forward then you can steer the drift. You have to know when to let up to avoid the snap back too, it can be just as bad.
Why post these videos if you have to go to Instagram to view them. Also no valid link. Load of garbage!
Why can’t you just click play?
New caption: idiots who think they’re too good for traction control 🤣
Another reason insurance rates are increasing. We all pay for the brainless who have no clue how to drive. I thought everyone had watched youtube videos of this exact action. Guess this guy missed them all!
