2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X AEV Edition Debuts: Video

Making its formal introduction late last year, the refreshed 2024 GMC Sierra HD brings with it a wealth of changes and updates, including revisions to the exterior styling, a new cabin space, powertrain upgrades, and a new trim level lineup to boot. What’s more, the refreshed 2024 GMC Sierra HD also ushers in the even-more capable Sierra HD AT4X off-roader trim level, which arrives as a new addition for the 2024 model year alongside the GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate. Now, GM has unveiled the new 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X AEV Edition, offering customers an extra dash of off-roader flair.

Aimed squarely at off-roader enthusiasts, the 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X AEV Edition was developed in collaboration with American Expedition Vehicles, the same company that collaborated on the GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X AEV Edition and Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison. As such, the new Sierra HD AT4X AEV takes the off-roader to an even-higher level thanks to unique touches like stamped steel bumpers with integrated recovery points and front winch capability.

The Sierra HD AT4X AEV Edition also equips heavy-duty steel skid plates to protect vital components like the steering gear and transfer case, while in the corners, we see a set of unique 18-inch Salta wheels wrapped in chunky off-road tires. Unique exterior badging and interior cues finish it off, with the latter incorporating AEV logos in the front-seat head restraints and AEV-branded floor liners.

“The Sierra HD is an ideal foundation when it comes to on-road performance, off-road capability and insane pulling power,” says AEV founder and CEO, Dave Harriton. “As with the Sierra 1500 before it, we took AEV’s signature performance-driven approach and dedication to detail to elevate the aspects that off-road customers want and demand in their heavy-duty truck. The result is an awesome truck with capability and confidence in all the right spots.”

As for the greasy bits, the 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X AEV Edition equips the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine as standard, producing 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. The 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine is once again optional, producing an uprated 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque.

The 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X AEV Edition will hit dealers in the fall.
