The 2024 Chevy Traverse is poised to introduce a brand-new third generation for the crossover, ushering in new exterior styling, a revised trim level lineup, and powertrain changes as well. The 2024 Chevy Traverse will also debut an overhauled cabin, complete with a new layout and new tech features. Now, GM Authority has new spy photos revealing the 2024 Chevy Traverse interior.
The first thing to grab our attention is the infotainment goodies, which include a pair of digital screens mounted on the dash, including a big digital gauge cluster behind the steering wheel and a large touchscreen mounted more centrally on the dash. Interestingly, the digital gauge cluster shows the Chevrolet logo in an animated sequence, while the large center screen is similar to that found in the refreshed Chevy Silverado 1500 (2022.5+ model years). The center screen also includes a large volume dial in the upper lefthand corner.
The 2024 Chevy Traverse features a new steering wheel as well, presenting a new design with a thick rim and new thumb-length buttons. The steering wheel design looks quite similar to that on the all-new 2023 Chevy Colorado. The shifter seems to be on the stalk to the right of the steering wheel, while a power steering column adjustment will aid in comfort.
The new steering wheel is also notable for its glossy Super Cruise status indicator laid out across the top rim, while a Super Cruise sensor can be found on top of the column. The Rear Camera Mirror feature is also present and accounted for.
As for the flow-through center console, we find plenty of available storage, including a pair of cupholders and a small space ahead of the cupholders. AC vents are below the screen. The seats are covered in black upholstery, which is offset by some nice white piping and contrast stitching.
Beyond the overhauled interior, expect the third-gen 2024 Chevy Traverse to introduce a new, more-capable Z71 variant, as well as an all-new turbocharged 2.5L I4 gasoline powerplant. Production is expected to kick off this December at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan.

Oversized Obnoxious Screen Disorder.
It’s like a disease that just keeps spreading.
yeah a covid virus gets further…. a bacteria we here even 2 peniciline antbiothicum does not solve out
Thank you. Yes the screens are getting ridiculous.
If it’s too large to be nicely integrated with the dash, then it’s too large.
8″ should be adequate .
The piano black on the steering wheel will be a scratched-up fingerprint covered mess..
Stupid idea…
The rest of it looks like every other SUV on the road…not bad or good. GM took no risks with their kid hauler…
Realist: I have that piano black in my Bolt and hate it. Volvo and Mazda use is a lot too and it sucks. Nobody likes it and it’s always looking dirty and full of prints. But hey, at least they have the massive screen to look at instead of the dirt and prints.
On my way to work this morning on the 405 Freeway, I happened to realize how every SUV/CUV looks the same. Almost every one has the non-painted black all over the bottom and around the wheels. Every one of them blends in with the next. In my 40 years of driving and my 23 years of being in the auto business, I’ve never seen such a bland, boring and obnoxious group of vehicles. It literally numbs the mind.
The wife’s SUV has piano black down the entire center console. It was trashed in 6 months…
I suppose SUVs have certain interior requirements that force the outsides to all have the same basic shape.
Maybe all the EVs on the design boards will finally let designers change it up a bit but a Mach-e or Model Y is not any leap forward in design so we will probably be seeing the same stuff for quite a while.
when worked as 3rd for Audi Ingolstadt in 2007 from münchen to daily travel 100 km away at A8 D4 Kombiinstrument, at the design interiors department we discussed a lot about piano black lack .. the spanish designer had put all fascia with it, well looks beautiful when new at demonstrator shinning at studio with no touch, but makes easy scratch risks so we dropped the option off
I’m with you, generally, on piano black, but I’m not seeing any on the steering wheel.
That’s the new design interior of GM.
… which is not new… what is new ?
it is plastic, black plastic all around, all cars are so
Seen the new taco? Tundra? Frick… seen any polestar? Tesla?
Steve: Would that be a case of monkey see, monkey do?
One starts putting over-sized screens, so they all do. One thinks piano black is cool looking and starts using it, so they all do. One thinks it’s more manly or tough looking to plaster the entire outside of vehicles with black plastic, so they all do.
IMO, the auto world has become pathetic appliances or boxes on wheels. Which brings me to another stupid fad where one thinks it’s cool to stick huge rims on the vehicles, so now they all do.
IT STILL IMPRESS ME HOW THOSE BORING CARS ,,, MOST SHOWN HERE ATE GMA AND OTHER SITES …
STILL MAKES GUYS COMMENTING A LOT
It’s got a steering wheel and screens, wow.
Where’s the shifter???? I might be happy I got the current gen traverse.
Looks like on the column thank goodness. That needs to spread across the lineup. So much storage space for activities on the console without a shifter!
That is almost certainly the wiper stalk, much like today. I would bet on a dial or buttons somewhere.
But—wouldn’t it be nice to return to the “old is new again” and return to the column shifter. I agree with the freeing up of the extra space that would create.
The shifter is on the steering column. You can see it clearly in other spy photos I have seen. I thought that was weird placement. However, I remember growing up I think all cars had the shifter located there just a larger version.
I like it but won’t be buying one
Are they botching up a proven winner here? Who the heck wants to purchase a new vehicle at todays’ prices with a brand new engine(recall some vehicles from the past, not just GM but other manufacturers as well)let alone tossing in more plastics, that after minimal use are going to look like …
Why does every engine so called upgrade have to be a small turbo engine that probably needs premium gas, runs hot, uses oil,and probably isn’t durable for the long run.
CAFE standards. Every MPG counts. I love the 2.7 Ecoboost in my F-150, for what it’s worth. Awesome low end torque yet it gets better city mileage than the wife’s Traverse. No premium required. No oil burning. And nine years in proving to be Ford’s most reliable and most popular half ton truck engine.
Turbo 4? Probably not.
A turbo 4? I’m thinking….no.
Precedent may be set by GMC Acadia’s ’24 increased sizing and going with the new engine. Chevy will probably follow, then Buick once those refreshed models hit the mainstream. I’d bet .10 on it.
the interior looks great. i like how the display actually takes up the entire screen unlike the new buick models. also everyone complaining about the screen size seriously should not be driving. if you actually think people get distracted by infotainment screens then you’re truly delusional
I have a feeling they’ll take a sales hit vs Pilot with this 4-banger.
I wouldn’t expect that engine to hold up very long hauling boats and campers.
But I suppose we’ll find out.
Good luck GM.
We snagged a 2023 V6 for our towing needs.
Maybe they think if you need to tow, you should pay an extra $12k and get a base model Yukon.
