2024 Chevy Camaro Collector’s Edition To Be Available In Both Coupe And Convertible

The upcoming Collector’s Edition of the 2024 Chevy Camaro will be available in both Coupe and Convertible body styles, GM Authority has learned.

The 2024 Chevy Camaro Collector’s Edition bids farewell to the classic sports car’s sixth generation, though GM has currently revealed very few details of the planned special edition.

The revelation that both Coupe and Convertible body styles will be available fills in a few of the blanks about the 2024 Chevy Camaro Collector’s Edition. It’s also known that the Collector’s Edition will be offered for the LT RS, SS, and ZL1 trim levels only.

The few glimpses GM has given of the 2024 Chevy Camaro in its Collector’s Edition guise show details such as a wing-like rear spoiler and multi-spoke alloy wheels. The Collector’s Edition “pays homage to Camaro, resurfacing ties that date back to the development of the first generation Camaro in the 1960s, most notably the program’s initial code name: Panther” according to The General.

For motivation, the Collector’s Edition of the 2024 Chevy Camaro will offer the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, rated at 335 horsepower and 284 pound-feet of torque, for the LT trim with the RS package. The SS trim will be powered by the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT1 gasoline engine, developing 455 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque, while the ZL1 trim gets the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine providing an output of 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. Both the six-speed manual and the GM 10-speed automatic transmission will be available with the Collector’s Edition. The fourth Chevy Camaro engine choice, the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LTG gasoline engine, will not be available with the Collector’s Edition.

The 2024 Chevy Camaro will be the final model year for the sixth generation, but GM has confirmed a new generation will arrive at some point in the future, possibly as a lineup of EV models under a Camaro EV sub-brand.

As a reminder, the Chevy Camaro rides on the GM Alpha platform under the body panels. Production of the 2024 Chevy Camaro is scheduled to start in August and will take place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.

    1. you’re basically right. this “collectors edition” will be entirely aesthetics. if gm actually cared they would’ve done more to make this feel like a collectors item, especially given the fact that it will LITERALLY be the last of its kind when its gone.

  4. If you are buying one as an investment, in my opinion an SS or ZL1 convertible 6 speed manual would be the way to go. Nothing wrong with a coupe, but the production numbers will be much less with the convertible. The same is true with any car with a 6 speed. As a GM guy I’m not at all happy with the ending of the Camaro. Meanwhile the updated 480 / 500 hp 2024 Mustang is about to be introduced.

  6. We ordered a 2023 2ss Camaro back in Nov. 2022 and still have no word from GM that it is going to be built or if it is even scheduled to be built . Starting to look at other companies. GM must not want our business anymore after buying GM most of my life. 4 New GM products in 2 years and this is the way they treat loyal customers … And don’t give me this about the dealership to talk to …

    1. Dude why don’t you just buy one off the lot? They are literally sitting on the showroom floor at some dealerships. Well atleast a few zL1’s here and there.

    2. Some dealers just cant get allocation. I put orders in with 3 different dealers and bought from dealer that got first allocation. Your in the same exact situation I was.
Patience…It took 7 months to get my car. ordered my 23 2ss end of April 22 and didnt get it till November of 22. took 4-5 months just to get allocation. Once its accepted it only takes2-3 months. I felt same way as you but was worth the wait. No new Camaros were on any lot within 1000 miles from my location and Im in NY. They couldnt be had without ordering.

GM is woke and dead to its loyal customers. I don’t know what I will buy in the future now that my Silverado is paid off

  12. I’m working with a large GM dealership conglomerate with above average sales volume. Unfortunately , due to lack of V-8 allocation info from GM, they’re unable to provide accurate info as to whether they can deliver a 2023 or 2024. I believe they are telling the truth. My choice is a 2024. Feeling that if I don’t jump in now, it won’t happen.
    P.S. won’t be a Collector’s Edition.

  13. The dependency on Gov. Handouts to stay afloat will start dwindling, and continuing to Prop up Ev’s will make the Trip shorter. In time, the GM plants will look like the Shuttered Packard & Studebaker plants. In time, down the Road, EV’s will find their nitch, eventually, but not by Force and Spite.

  14. As a die hard Chevrolet guy and many GM vehicles in my family, it’s tough to see the Camaro go away (again). Instead of knit picking we should embrace the last version of an American sports car. I once owned a 1988 IROC Z with the 5.7 TPI and thoroughly enjoyed the car, good and bad traits it had. Being a mechanic for a living over 35 years I have seen a bit. Will never part with my 1975 K-5 Blazer, 2002 8.1 Avalanche, or 2003 Monte Carlo SS.

    1. I dont understand why everything is starting to be woke, wake, alive , or dead, its just who like what to me! I am a war vet. I did work in the intell. field, and i dont like the ideal of anyone in the U.S. giving this country to another country. I dont care about the electric cars. So! Chevy/ GM is what i did like, now im going to try ford i guess. Dodge done sold out!

      1. You are right! About the freedom of choice when it comes gas or electric being taken, however all of that extra i dont care about! Im talking camaros!

  18. I just retired, cashed out and wanted to buy one of the last ZL1’s and I held out for the HE.
Well I guess I’ll just go buy one off the showroom floor now because ordering one is a joke from what I’ve read here and many other places. I really miss the old days of cars when a mans car was a reflection of the man.
Now a car is just way to sit in traffic.

Long live the 60’s/70’s when Car’s were a statement of who you were.
Goodbye Camaro, you will be missed by the great car loves of the best time in automobile history.

  19. Every time they kill a product they loose customers for that segment. This is the 3rd time…..and then they wonder why it’s not selling, they don’t even advertise it. It could be a cash cow if they promoted it. Always will love the Camaro, but I’m a die hard gear head.

  21. Ridiculous they are stopping the camaro. I tried to order a 2023 ZL1 1LE from several dealers with no luck. GM would not take the order. I remember them complaining about low sales numbers but then won’t let you order what you want. I decided to go used and picked up a 2020 ZL1 1LE manual with 4200 miles on it. One amazing machine that I will never get rid of. I don’t think I could ever get on the electric car bandwagon, gotta have that rumbling V8.

  22. They should’ve dealt away with dealership sales people and let customers order factory direct.

  23. last time I saw a new SS+ camaro on a car lot was about 5years ago.. people that order them have to wait 6m to a year.. course they use the fact that they don’t build camaro’s let alone build camaro’s that anyone would want to buy as an excuse to claim they are cancelling the camaro because no one is buying them..

  25. Camaro has been my dream car since it was revived. I’ve been disappointed in its path pretty much ever since. With it going away, I will do my best to order one, not often your dream car comes to a halt. I used to be so excited for what the Camaro would become, but I will still very much enjoy driving it though if I can order one!
