So the Envista is 11 inches longer than the Encore.
But that extra “foot” only gives you 1 inch more leg room for front and rear passengers. And it has10 cu.ft. LESS cargo space, because it has that sloping rear roof line to look more like a stylish sedan than an SUV.
And FYI- In this story, the /- icons are incorrect when you read the stats and the heading that compares the “Envista to the Encore”. If the Envista is 11 inches longer, then then it should read not – in the comparison column which clearly states the Envista FIRST, compared to the Encore, second.
The things they do for design and style…..
The entire 4 door coupe them gets love from auto press but helped kill sedans due to poor viability and lots of accidental head smashing.
Toyota Camry is the least coupe-like yet sells well. Nonetheless, the more I look, the more clear it becomes that GM has brought us what looks like a Honda Civic SUV. Curious to see sales after Crosstour disaster.
This vehicle fits the Chevy lineup better. Would have made a nice Cruze which sold well at higher price point.
I thought it was interesting to see that the Envista is longer than the Envision; 182.6 vs 182.5 for the Envision. The Envista also has more front row leg room; 41.9 vs 40.40 for the Envision. However, the Envista is a little short compared to the Envision on 2nd seat leg room but not by much; 38.7 vs 39.3 for the Envision. Maybe this article should have also included another column for the Envision.
It’s bigger but has less room, wow gm we have a winner… not.
I really don’t understand GM, they get rid of the encore which was fine and a big seller as long as I had inventory. they come out with this new piece of crap that I probably can’t fit two pieces of regular size luggage. bring back station wagons please, my Buick Verano has a much larger trunk that has Dimensions that can fit luggage, just yesterday my friend said wow how big it is and deep. maybe they should get out of their offices and actually into cars
Your “+/- Envista vs. Encore GX” comparisons are azz-backwards.
EXAMPLE: Wheelbase (in.) Envista 106.0; Encore GX 102.0 The Envista is +4″ (not -4″)
Additionally, something nice to know would be, what are the dimensions of the cargo space Length x Width when “stacking groceries” in the rear, floorspace is more valuable than height, especially when you have fixed rear glass and have to open the hatch to access.
The comparison difference is for the Encore GX vs Envista.
