The 2023 GMC Acadia is the seventh model year of the current second-gen crossover, ushering in only a handful of small updates and changes compared to the preceding 2022 model year. Now, GM Authority has learned that the 2023 GMC Acadia is currently facing a constraint for the GMC Pro Safety Plus Package. It’s unclear when the package constraint will be lifted.
The constraint affects 2023 GMC Acadia SLE, SLT, and AT4 trim levels since May 1st, 2023 production. The GMC Pro Safety Plus Package, tagged with RPO code PED, is normally equipped as standard on 2023 GMC Acadia SLE, SLT, and AT4 trim levels, but is now unavailable to order, at least for the time being. The GMC Pro Safety Plus Package remains standard and available for the 2023 GMC Acadia Denali.
The GMC Pro Safety Plus Package includes the following content (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):
- Automatic Emergency Braking (UHY)
- Front Pedestrian Braking (UKJ)
- IntelliBeam headlamps (TQ5)
- Front and Rear Park Assist (UD5)
- Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning (UHX)
- Following Distance Indicator (UE4)
- Forward Collision Alert (UEU)
Meanwhile, all 2023 GMC Acadia trim levels are still fitted as standard with the following safety features:
- Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert (UKC)
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert (UFG)
As a reminder, the 2023 GMC Acadia is offered with two engine options, including the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, which is rated at 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, which is rated at 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. The GM C1 platform provides the underpinnings, while production takes place at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.
Looking ahead, GM will introduce the all-new third generation Acadia for the 2024 model year. Per a GM Authority exclusive, the next-gen 2024 GMC Acadia will feature the new turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine currently under development.
