Fully restored from the ground up and boasting a 320-horsepower V8 engine, this drop-top will be given away early next year as the sweepstakes grand prize. Winners will also receive $18,000 to cover taxes.

The sweepstakes is hosted by New Beginning Children’s Homes, which is offering this 1968 Pontiac Firebird Convertible as the grand prize in a new fundraising effort facilitated through Dream Giveaway. New Beginning Children’s Homes is a 501(c)(3) non-profit offering long-term residential care to foster children, providing kids in need with a safe, family atmosphere in which to grow, heal, and be loved. New Beginning Children’s Homes is the sole and exclusive sponsor and administrator for this Pontiac Firebird sweepstakes.

Originally delivered new to Miller Auto Company in White Haven, Vermont, this Pontiac Firebird 350 HO includes a 4BBL carb and dual exhausts. Output is routed to the rear tires through a four-speed manual transmission. It is documented as one of 3,784 units built for the 1968 model year with the High Output 350 cubic-inch V8 engine and four-speed manual transmission.

The car boasts a no-expense-spared rotisserie restoration, and retains its original triple-black color combo with a Tuxedo Black exterior, black top, and standard black interior. The interior also includes an electric clock and an AM radio, while power steering and power disc brakes make it easy to drive. The car also features a hood-mounted tachometer, red striping down the flanks, and F70x14 Red – Wide Oval tires.

  2. Pontiac made a 400 Ram Air 2 version of the Firebird in 1968 that was a screamer. When properly set up, there weren’t many muscle cars that could keep up with it.

    I owned ‘68 400 convertible, ‘69 400 hardtop and convertible.
    This, before we really knew car exhaust was destroying the planet.
