The GM Authority Take

U.S. Chevrolet sales posted a strong increase on a year-over-year basis. The Bolt family, consisting of the Chevrolet Bolt EV and Chevrolet Bolt EUV, rocketed over 27,000 percent to 19,700 units, while the Chevrolet Trailblazer posted a lesser but still massive rise of 225 percent to 27,951 units sold.

The Chevy Silverado remained the Bow Tie brand’s most popular model, with sales rising almost five percent to 126,992 units, while the Equinox was the brand’s second best-selling model despite a six percent drop in sales to 52,902 units.

The Malibu rounded out the top three finishers as sales grew over 45 percent to 37,438 units as inventory levels increased substantially, helping the midsize sedan turn more quickly at the retail level. Meanwhile, the Chevy Tahoe and Chevy Suburban were in the green, posting 27,257 and 12,424 deliveries, respectively.

As for some notable decreases, the Corvette dropped over 10 percent to 7,904 units as the mid-engine sports car likely faced availability issues. In addition, the Chevrolet Colorado fell almost 39 percent to 13,256 units as the all-new, 2023 model continues its rollout. Finally, sales of the discontinued Chevrolet Spark continued to decrease, falling 46 percent to 150 units as available inventory dwindles.
