Poll: Which One Looks Better – Hummer EV Pickup Or SUV?

The GMC Hummer EV first hit the scene for the 2022 model year as an all-new pickup, with the subsequent 2023 model year introducing a new SUV body style to the lineup. While both the GMC Hummer EV Pickup and GMC Hummer EV SUV offer impressive off-road capabilities and cutting-edge all-electric propulsion, the styling differences could be considered a point of contention among enthusiasts. Now, we want to know – which of the two body styles do you think looks better?

Interestingly, the GMC Hummer EV Pickup and GMC Hummer EV SUV don’t just look different – they’re sized differently as well. The Pickup is a bit longer, measuring in with a 135.6-inch wheel base and 216.8-inch overall length, as compared to the SUV’s 126.7-inch wheelbase and 196.8-inch overall length. The Pickup is also a tick shorter at 80.9 inches, as compared to an overall height of 81.1 inches for the SUV. There’s also a big chassis difference between the Pickup and SUV body styles, as GM Authority exclusively covered last month.

Of course, one of the biggest visual differences between the GMC Hummer EV Pickup and GMC Hummer EV SUV is around the rear end, where the roofline on the Pickup drops down into the bed, while the roofline on the SUV continues straight back to form a 90-degree angle before falling into the rear hatch section.

As for the exterior hues, the 2023 GMC Hummer EV Pickup and 2023 GMC Hummer EV SUV offer identical paint options, with the exception of the range-topping Edition 1 models. The GMC Hummer EV Pickup Edition 1 is finished exclusively in Interstellar White, while the SUV Edition 1 is finished exclusively in Moonshot Green Matter (although the SUV was almost finished in another color, as GM Authority exclusively covered in February).

Both body styles are equipped with GM Ultium batteries and GM Ultium Drive motors, and both ride on the GM BT1 platform. GMC Hummer EV production takes place at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan.

  4. What a waste. 9000+ pounds. I hope it is dry where they go off road because anything that heavy will sink in the mud with those tiny tires. I wonder what it will cost to register and insure a 9000 pound vehicle 🙂

    1. Insurance will be super high for this virtue monster! I wouldn’t be surprised if some companies refuse to insure it due to repair costs and the heavy damage it can inflict on other vehicles.

    2. It cost a lot less to insure them my Ferrari!

  5. Before You All start voicing your uneducated options, Drive the hummer EV!
If you can even get one or afford one!
For the life of me, I don’t understand how people can condemn such a truck without seeing, touching or driving one!
It is 9,000 lbs of awesome! There is nothing like it!

    1. “Condemn” is a strong word, which I haven’t seen used; I do see opinions being expressed which is what this is about. Being uneducated does put me at a disadvantage with sparring with you, so I won’t. My uneducated opinion has put me in the presence of one & seeing & touching but not driving (no desire there). As for “afford one”, now don’t we have our nose in the air. I can afford whatever I desire, I guess desire is the key word. Didn’t ferrari get beaten by a Ford?

      1. Yes, it is a strong word, Because I feel strongly about the truck, especially after spending $112,000. on it!
        LOL!
Yes, Ford did beat Ferrari on the racetrack, but definitely not beat in the coolness factor!

        1. Hey George, the only thing that comes to mind after reading “after spending 112,000” is that old saying “A fool & his money are soon parted”. I got to be honest, I am sitting here trying to imagine what sort of activities/hobbies you have that would be enhanced by the truck or do you just use it to tow the ferrari to the Circuit of the Americas. I had no intention of taking this thread any further, but the 112,000 & coolness factor comments got me. Dan is correct with his “look at me” assessment. Coolness would be more like a ’57 factory fi Chevy & a plethora of other examples. Have fun.

          1. So it’s okay to spend $40 or $50 grand on a new car but not $112????
That make someone a fool? Or is it that if someone buys a vehicle that you don’t care for, they are a fool??? I don’t understand.
Thats great that a 57 chevy floats your boat. It’s a great Iconic Car, if that’s what you’re into!
“To Each His Own” Personally My parents had one when I was growing up, it’s an old mans car to me!
FYI: The Hummer EV has shown to be a great short term investment for those that don’t want to keep it! They have been selling constantly for the last 12 months at 50% or more over sticker.
One sold yesterday on Bring A Trailer for $175,000.
            Have a nice day!
Now I too have no intention of taking this thread any further!
