No. 27 NASCAR Chevy Victorious In Xfinity Series Talladega April 2023: Video

In a wild race that saw not one, but two barrel-rolling wrecks, the No. 27 Chevy Camaro of Jeb Burton held on to win the Xfinity Series at Talladega Superspeedway on April 22^nd, 2023.

Burton and the No. 27 Camaro led 20 laps during the race, including to the finish of Stage 2, and ultimately crossed the line just 0.113 seconds ahead of fellow NASCAR Chevy driver, Sheldon Creed, in the No. 2 Camaro.

“Man, I’m pumped up and out of breath from yelling,” Burton said after winning, marking his second Xfinity Series victory. “These guys [his team] have made racing fun for me again.”

Creed, meanwhile, was disappointed that he didn’t have more fight in the No. 2 Camaro.

“I let the 27 [Burton] get way out there and had the 00 [Cole Custer] on me getting ready for a big run,” said Creed. “Nonetheless, a great day. Plate [superspeedway] racing is not my best, and I’ve been trying to get better at it. Happy to get Whelen Manufacturing a good finish. We’ve been up and down this year, so just to have a solid day like that is really good for us.”

Daniel Hemric, driver of the No. 11 Camaro, was one of the best cars, but he was caught in a wreck with three laps left that sent him upside down against the outside wall. He was able to exit his NASCAR Chevy under his own power. He ultimately finished 21^st.

The No. 02 Camaro of Blaine Perkins was also involved in a rollover, flipping half a dozen times down the backstretch before coming to a stop. Perkins was transported to a local medical facility due to an abundance of caution, and was released the following day.
