The 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV isn’t short on party tricks, packing in features like CrabWalk and Watts to Freedom (WTF) modes to delight and amaze passengers. Now, we’re watching as basketball superstar LeBron James puts these features to the test in the following video advertisement.
Clocking in at exactly 1 minute, the video shows James at the helm of the 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV alongside some adorable crab co-pilots.
The video opens on a beach, where we see a cute little crustacean in the passenger seat, indicating that it wants James to drive the 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV in CrabWalk mode.
“Again?” James asks, incredulously.
James acquiesces, laying down some diagonal tire treads on the sandy surface as Missy Elliott’s “Get Ur Freak On” plays in the background.
“Let’s try something different,” James says. We’re next transported onto a beach road as a cover of “Immigrant Song” by Led Zeppelin, Karen O, Trent Reznor, and Atticus Ross starts to play. We see our crab friend get buckled in while a few other crab passengers on the rear bench get settled.
James puts the 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV into WTF mode, lowering the suspension. As James lifts his foot off the brake, the all-electric SUV jumps forward, laying down an estimated 0-to-60-mph time of 3.5 seconds thanks to a maximum output of 830 horsepower. The crabs are thrilled.
“Let me guess,” James asks after bringing the SUV to a stop. “You wanna do that again.”
First breaking cover in April of the 2021 calendar year, the GMC Hummer EV SUV made its formal introduction in a commercial that aired during the NCAA’s Final Four tournament. LeBron James starred in that commercial as well.

I see that GM is trying to get the athletes and entertainment industry celebrities to buy the Hummer again. It feels like 2004 all over again. If they still made music videos, I’m sure these will all be featured with a bunch of scantily clad women.
The fact that GM is spending millions of dollars to create ads for a vehicle that is difficult to buy is astounding. Pure derp by GM.
They sold a grand total of 2 in Q1 – advertisement money would be better spent on something they can actually produce.
Agree – just like all the hype on the Z06 but won’t they don’t tell you; you have to wait three years to get one?
No one cares about this 10,000 lbs vehicle or the stupid idiot who bought one… LeBrat… seriously, I’d never buy one simply because this J/A was given one…. GM is a pathetic joke….
Jealousy has raised it’s head again.
I wouldn’t buy anything he’s advertising.
Gee, how did I know there would be some anti-LeBron comments? Wonder why that might be? Any guesses? I’ll bet it’s because he’s an overpaid athlete. I mean, it couldn’t be ‘cuz he’s an overpaid black athlete, could it? No, not today. Not in the 21rst Century. Right?
The peanut gallery is nothing if not predictable….
And you’re the first to introduce ‘black’ into this conversation. Ugh.
You cry racism by…introducing racism, and you can’t tell the difference.
Obsessed by race perhaps? Confined in thought by categorizing and dividing people, or maybe it’s your disguised version of ‘inclusiveness’.
