Impatient Chevy Camaro Driver Attempts Highway Merge And Fails: Video

Proper car control requires subtlety. Anyone who thinks they’re a good driver because they mash the pedals and crank the wheel from side to side is only joking themselves. Unfortunately, it looks like that’s exactly what happened when this impatient Chevy Camaro driver attempted to merge onto the highway in the following viral video.

Screenshot from a viral video showing a Chevy Camaro crashing on the highway.

Recently making the rounds on social media, the video is only a few seconds long, but that’s all the time needed for this Chevy Camaro to end up in the retaining wall.

The video opens with a shot of highway onramp, where we see the hood and windshield of a vehicle that appears to be equipped with a dash camera. In the video, we see wet pavement, as well as dark clouds above, while the windshield and hood are both streaked with rainwater. It definitely looks as though it had recently rained, and the conditions are obviously wet, which means less traction.

As the video gets under way, we see a Chevy Camaro signaling to merge left. The driver seems to be driving erratically, swerving left and right while accelerating and braking aggressively. Suddenly, we see the Chevy Camaro swerve left, and as it does, the rear end of the vehicle slides out.

The driver tries to counter steer, but then decides to slam on the brakes. This causes the weight of the vehicle to shift forward, reducing traction in the rear even further. As a result, the rear end of the Chevy Camaro pivots around, pointing the sports car towards the outer retaining wall. The end result is all too familiar, with the front end of the Chevy Camaro smashing into the retaining wall and causing heavy damage to the poor sports car.

Hopefully, the driver was unhurt and learned from their aggressive, impatient move. Check out the full video below:

  2. Must’ve had traction control off. I own a ZL1 and have never had it get this sideways with traction on.

    1. Why does GMA always show GM cars crashing, WTF, you must get off on that stuff. Unless its mechanical failure causing the crash, who cares. Why don’t you show burnt up EV Chevies. Thats something people should know about.

  8. At least the driver didn’t take out any innocent vehicles with him….just tortuous! As Phil said, drive much?
