Here’s When 2024 Buick Envista Production Will Start

As GM Authority previously anticipated, the 2024 Buick Envista was officially unveiled for the North American market earlier this week. Now, GM Authority has exclusively learned when production of the all-new Tri-Shield crossover coupe will kick off.

Sources close to the matter tell GM Authority that the start of regular production (SORP) of the 2024 Buick Envista is currently scheduled to commence on May 15th, 2023.

In case you missed it, here’s the breakdown on the 2024 Buick Envista. The Tri-Shield crossover features a bold design language that was originally introduced with the Buick Wildcat EV concept car. Three distinct trim levels are offered, including Preferred, Sport Touring (ST), and the range-topping Avenir.

On the inside, the 2024 Envista boasts more legroom than any previous small Buick crossover model. In addition, the all-new Envista offers 20.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seat and 42 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down. The cabin is highlighted by an 11-inch diagonal infotainment screen, which contributes to 19 inches of total screen space. Avenir and ST logos are embroidered in the headrests for each respective trim level, while a flat-bottom steering wheel is standard across the lineup.

The Buick driver confidence package is also equipped as standard fare, which includes Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, IntelliBeam automatic high beams, and more. Further safety and driver assist technologies are also available.

As far as powertrain specifications go, all 2024 Buick Envista trim levels are equipped with the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH gasoline engine, rated at 136 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. The GM six-speed automatic transmission serves as the only transmission option.

Pricing for the new 2024 Buick Envista starts at $23,495, while orders will open up later this summer.

  1. You keep on calling the Buick Envista a coup but in every picture you show a 4 door sedan. What’s up with that

    1. It’s a 4 Door Coupe. Get with the times.

      1. It is a 4 door coupe for the youth, a lifted sedan for the seniors

  2. If it had the 1.5T like in other markets, it would get significantly better MPG and it would be more appealing to more buyers.

    1. GM NA plants are being revamped one by one for EV production, GM/LG Battery plants are being built Three so far and a Honda/LG battery plant based on the same tech for a total of Four Battery Plants. At the same time GM plants such as Arlington in Texas are breaking production records on High Margin SUV’s running 24/7.
With the IRA law GM has to assemble its EV’s and batteries in NA to qualify for the credits and incentives.
Rumor is the Camaro/CT4/CT5 plant will be revamped into a EV plant producing up to six vehicles, that is supporting the workers with product

      1. Not entirely. Keep in mind, EV assembly requires up to 40% less manpower to build. The battery shops are all at half or less hourly pay than the the traditional shops and since they are Ultium/GM, no currently employed GM worker can transfer there when or if GM cuts their job at an ICE assembly shop. GM is looking out for the bottom line not at all for the employee, like always.

  5. Agree with TomG. Interesting how they don’t mention that this thing is built in China…

    1. It is built in South Korea. The chineze market one is built in china. Its not the USA but at least its built in a country that is close ally and trading partner to the USA.

      1. Apparently no more ratings. Don’t want to offend the communists I guess.

  6. I’m really kind of shocked at how many people just keep repeating the same (wrong) cr*p on here. Or just how silly some of the comments are.
    1. This is NOT assembled in China. Every article has said that. It will be assembled in S. Korea for US market.
    2. It has the smaller engine and 6 speed trans to keep the price down. Putting the larger engines would only push the price.
    3. To understand what is considered a coupe, sedan, truck, etc. you need to Google it and read how they are clasified.

Anyhow, the more I look at this and read about it, the more I like it. I went on Buick’s site the other day and they have lots of pictures and you can click on the different trims and colors. This is amazing in the Avenir trim in nearly any of the colors. I love that this is basically a higher sitting sedan/hatch and has a distinct look that is more upscale in every way compared to the SUV/CUV’s in this same basic class. Buick should be able to sell a lot of these. However, I do wish they would assemble it in the US.

      1. Thanks Christopher. In all our back and forth, I have to say that I have been for over 30 years and still am a very big Buick fan. I think that’s why I’ve taken where Buick is at today so personally (which I should not do). Buick has been a great car (stressing car) company for so many years, landing towards the top of JD Powers for so long and even doing ok with CR. And we all know CR has never been American brand friendly. Also, Buick has always come across as a real American brand with near luxury cars. So when you look at where they are at today, it’s just sad as heck and the newer design elements just don’t do them any favors (example the refreshed Encore).

Anyhow, maybe this one gives me hope that Buick will return to the sedan market as it looks (to me) like a higher sitting sedan/hatch. So this one has given me that hope that I’ve been wishing for with Buick.

  7. I’m surprised Buick is still in business, they should have canceled it when they canceled Pontiac and Oldsmobile. Chevrolet and Cadillac have enough features. GMC is still a viable alternative.

  8. So a new red, white, and blue logo when only the Enclave is made in the USA. All other Buicks made in South Korea or Envision in China. Sadly, most buyers don’t know and many no longer care.

  9. Looks like the Buick engineers went to the same school as Huyandai

  10. Still looks like a Ford Escape. I underpowered and not really something that the market in the US needs. We are drowning in CUV’s, SUV’s and mall-crawler pickups.

Give us an honest full-sized luxury sedan made in the US and send Mary and crew to China.

    1. Sorry, in 2023 nobody under retirement age in the US wants full-size luxury sedans. Lincoln tried bringing back the Continental, it didn’t sell. The Cadillac CT6 didn’t sell well enough to last in the US. The Chrysler 300 sold.. a little better, but they were able to keep prices down because they rarely ever updated it.

      1. Really? Have you seen the number of young people driving Honda Accords, Camry, Genesis, Passat and other sedans.

Sorry and yes, I am retired and have driven full-sized sedans all my life except for the Corvettes that I have owned. There are still plenty of people who want full-sized sedans and luxury sedans.

      2. Nobody! I currently drive a 2019 Impala with leather and pano roof and would in a heartbeat trade up to a LaCrosse or a revamped 2024 Impala if GM had actually kept its full sized sedan. And I’m nowhere near retirement. Just because you wouldn’t buy a large sedan doesn’t mean everybody shares your views!

  11. Once again, another great looking vehicle with tech and features people will like. And a very weak powertrain. I’m sure it will be good on gas and the price is right. But, there are still people who want something that is somewhat fun to drive. They have been systematically killing off all of the optional engine upgrades. With the exception of high end sports cars like Camaro or Corvette, there isn’t much left at GM that has any appeal as far as I am concerned. They have managed to turn vehicles into an appliance, gets the job done but does not inspire an emotional response when you use it.

  12. Another one off the list because its made in Asia.
