GM unveiled the refreshed 2024 Chevy Silverado HD last September, pulling the sheets on revised exterior styling, an overhauled cabin, new tech goodies, powertrain upgrades, and the new Chevy Silverado HD ZR2. Now, we’re taking a closer look at the refreshed 2024 Chevy Silverado HD, specifically, the various wheels on offer.
In total, the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD offers 14 different wheel options, with wheel sizing ranging between 17 inches and 22 inches in diameter.
Some of the wheels are offered as LPO-level options, which means they are installed by the dealer, rather than at the factory when the vehicle is initially produced. Units of the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD equipped with an LPO-level wheel are delivered from the factory on transit aluminum wheels, which are then sent back to the factory once the LPO-level wheels are installed by the dealer. Prices for the LPO wheel range between $2,950 and $3,995.
Check out the table below for more information on the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD wheels, including relevant RPO codes and availability per trim level.

In addition to wheel options, the refreshed 2024 Chevy Silverado HD also introduces revised body panels, including a new front fascia, headlights, and grille. Six new exterior color options are offered as well, including Sterling Gray, Dark Ash, Radiant Red, Auburn Metallic, Lakeshore Blue Metallic, and Meteorite Metallic. The overhauled interior includes an all-new 13.4-inch infotainment screen and 12.3-inch diagonal configurable driver information center.
As for the greasy bits, the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD is equipped as standard with the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, with the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine offered as an optional upgrade. Output from the diesel engine was boosted to 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque, while the gasoline engine now connects to the Allison-branded 10-speed automatic transmission.
Under the body, the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD rides on a more-capable variant of the GM T1 platform. Production takes place at the GM Flint Assembly plant in Michigan and GM Oshawa plant in Canada.

Mostly ugly.
What happened to the 22”
What happened to the 22″?That’s my question
Some of the wheel options say chrome aluminum and some say bright chrome. Are the “bright chrome” wheels aluminum or steel? Does anyone have long term experience with chrome aluminum wheels for how long before they start to corrode and bubble if you’re not meticulous about keeping them clean and waxed?
Meh on those options, there always seems to be one Chevy machined rim whose tire loses air after the 2nd or 3rd set of tires during those cold MN winters. Never had that problem with an aluminum forged rim. Saves on the knees, pumping air into a tire at > -15 F every several mornings gets old really fast. Plus the forged rims usually look better than the stock rims. And yes I’ve taken in those leaky wheels to my Chevy dealer multiple times for very little satisfaction. The forged rims always just work…also better in the spring when dealing with extremely deep, water filled potholes.
All I want to know is… where is the panoramic sunroof!!?
Yep, nice wheel selection. Don’t try ordering the skw choice, not available for 3 months or more. Great new colors? Don’t order Lakeshore metallic blue, not available until later this year if ever. Everything shows up on build and price then the dealership says “oops” can’t have that. Settled on wheels and paint selection. Can’t wait to see what actually shows up.😕
Have you come across anyway to check on the Lakeshore metallic blue availability?
Pre ordered the midnight edition expecting to get the wheels advertised on the truck when it was released. Now the only option are ugly old style wheels…..
Also no 22″ option…
S9O should be the wheel that was advertised on the truck. I spoke with Chevrolet customer service and they told me the wheel pictured on the midnight edition are the wheels that are S9O.
Based on the pictures above it shows S9O as those black snow flake style wheel from previous models. Also on the build and price tool on the website those are the option you get.
SHH is the exact same wheel as the one the website is saying is a S90. Why would GM have two wheels that are the same with different RPO codes? The wheel shown on the midnight edition high country on the media brochure I think is the correct wheel.
To me it makes more sense that it will be the S8A wheel with a black coating. They already have the mold for the wheel.
Whenever someone finds a midnight edition high country out there they should post up a picture. That will have the S90 wheel on it.
Good questions.. I haven’t been able to find any answers myself… The only difference between shh and S9O are one has black lugs the other has chrome.
Well here’s a picture from the new York auto show of the midnight edition I guess this answers our question.

This is not what I was hoping. Not a fan of that wheel. I was told the SHH wasn’t available anymore from GM customer service.
If that’s the case and in fact the wheel that means I won’t be getting the BFGs either since you need the S9O wheel.
Code Numbers: Q86, SHL and Q7G would most likely be the only ones that I would go for, Code PTW also, but only with Dark Exterior Truck colors.
Based on the pictures above it shows S9O as those black snow flake style wheel from previous models. Also on the build and price tool on the website those are the option you get…
Anybody know if the Q7G wheel is aluminum or steel?
“Q7G: Wheels: 20″ Polished Aluminum” is exactly how my GM Order Workbench PDF reads. I ordered them for my truck.
Thank You!! My dealership couldn’t come up with that information.
i need to know if i can take off the rims and tires from my silverado 2500hd they are 18s and put on 20s How will this affect the odometer and speedometer and warrenty
