GM reported that the Chevy Trailblazer and the all-new 2024 Chevy Trax ranked among South Korea’s top exported vehicles in March, resulting in the automaker being the number-one vehicle export automaker.
The Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association (KAMA) has just revealed the statistics of the South Korean industry over the past month when the Chevy Trailblazer and Trax crossover ranked first and fifth, respectively, among South Korea’s most exported finished vehicles. Both models register a high global demand that GM hopes to satisfy by increasing its local production to 500,000 units per year starting this year.
“The Trailblazer and Trax Crossover reflect major trends and respond to global consumer needs which focus on new technology, active safety, stylish design and exceptional driving performance,” said President and CEO of GM Korea, Roberto Rempel. “We are pleased to be able to prove the competitiveness of our Chevrolet products in the global market once again and look forward to the ongoing strong performance of the two models based on GM’s philosophy of innovation and quality,” he added.
According to KAMA’s official figures, the Chevy Trailblazer sold 25,511 units in the overseas market in March, and this amount represents the largest export volume among all vehicles made in South Korea. In fact, GM claims that the Trailblazer has held the number one spot in auto exports for three consecutive months since January’s achievement, thanks to a marked improvement in production and inventory levels.
For its part, the all-new 2024 Chevy Trax registered a total of 13,828 units exported in March – its first full month since GM began its mass production in that country. This volume moved the Chevy Trax to fifth place in the overall ranking of South Korean vehicle exports, making the entry-level crossover end last month with a cumulative volume of 20,475 examples since the first shipment to the United States in late February.
GM plans to continue the momentum in the coming months and to lead vehicle exports in South Korea with the Chevy Trailblazer and Trax, maximizing production of both models to export them in large numbers mainly to North America. This with the aim of capitalizing on global demand for crossovers and underpinning the sustainable growth of South Korean operations specialized in manufacturing small vehicles.

GM need to focus on the coastal and mainland cities to regain lost market share with these subcompact crossovers.
These are some nice little suv’s. I’m sure they will continue to sell well. I just wish they would build a plug in hybrid version. Those would introduce people to electric vehicles without the threat of getting stranded without power. It is interesting to me as well that the U.S. has abandoned the production of small cars. Everything small is made in foreign countries even for US based companies like GM.
I just bought a trailblazer last November….still waiting for it to come in my sales lady barely gives me updates it hurts!
GM doesn’t update salespeople or dealers. So, it’s impossible to pass along updated information. Unfortunately, we’re just a bunch of mushrooms. I’m sick of saying I don’t know! It’s just the world, we’re in. Honestly, no one above the dealership level cares. Salespeople get it. You want a vehicle and we want the income just as bad. Unfortunately, no one will help either one of us.
