GM Defense president Steve duMont was recently listed to the 2023 Executive Mosaic Wash100 list for displaying the qualities of an intuitive executive, as according to Wash100.
This new recognition – duMont’s first – comes after duMont expanded GM Defense’s global reach through the launch of GM Defense International. With this new branch, GM Defense is better able to leverage advanced General Motors technologies to facilitate the transition of global customers to an electrified future.
More specifically, GM Defense produced new variants of the expeditionary nine-passenger Infantry Squad Vehicle (ISV) to demonstrate the vehicle’s adaptability to different situations. In addition, GM Defense also built the next-generation of armored Heavy Duty Sport Utility Vehicles for U.S. Agencies, as well as secured new contracts to advance the use of battery technology within the U.S. military.
“I took on this role two years ago with a vision to deliver advanced commercial technologies to our warfighters at commercial speed and scale,” GM Defense president Steve duMont was quoted as saying. “We owe it to the brave men and women who risk their lives on a daily basis to ensure they have the best capability to enable decisive advantage as their missions become increasingly more complex. The GM Defense team is absolutely executing on this commitment. We take immense pride in knowing that our integrated vehicles, power and propulsion systems, and autonomous and connected vehicle capabilities will play a critical role in supporting our defense and government customers around the world.”
For reference, this most recent list is Wash100’s tenth annual rendition, and serves to recognize the most impactful and influential executives from both the public and private sectors. Displaying attributes like leadership, innovation and vision, Wash100 recipients are selected by the Executive Mosaic, a networking and media company, with input from executives in the government contracting industry.
