Corvette ZR1 Owner Shows Off, Hits Curb: Video

Offered as the final word in front-engine, internal-combustion Chevy Corvette performance, the C7-generation Chevy Corvette ZR1 is a genuine supercar, packing a supercharged V8 punch, eye-catching and highly functional aerodynamics, and impressive handling. Unfortunately, not everyone can handle the ZR1 properly, as demonstrated in the following crash video.

Recently making its way to social media, the video is short and simple, showing the Chevy Corvette ZR1 exiting a cars and coffee event before demonstrating the effects of combining excess horsepower with a dearth of skill.

According to the post comments, the video was captured at a Windermere Cars and Coffee event, which hosts meet-ups around Florida. The video opens with a bright orange Corvette ZR1 turning in front of a crowd gathered on an adjacent sidewalk. The Corvette ZR1 looks as though it has been modified, running a new set of wheels and some modified bodywork as well.

We hear the individual behind the camera encouraging the driver in the Corvette ZR1 to put the hammer down.

“Get it buddy, get it buddy, get it buddy!” the individual shouts as the Corvette ZR1 rolls past. The driver is all too happy to oblige, smashing the throttle to the carpet and causing the supercharged V8 engine’s rpms to soar. The tires send up some blue smoke as the rear end of the Vette slides to the right.

As the driver lifts off the throttle, the rear end of the Corvette ZR1 transitions back to left, causing the driver to panic and tap the brakes. This makes the situation even worse, sending the vehicle weight forward, providing even less traction in the rear. Predictably, the Corvette ZR1 pirouettes into the nearby hedges.

See the whole thing go down right here:
