The 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 arrives as the fourth model year of the fourth-generation nameplate, introducing a few changes and updates over the refreshed 2022 Silverado. One such change is that 2023 Silverado Duramax models will be equipped with the new 3.0L I6 LZ0 engine turbodiesel “baby Duramax,” replacing the 3.0L I6 LM2. Also, the 2023 Silverado 1500 now sees the return of the Brembo Performance Brake Kit. Most recently, now the 2023 Silverado RST Crew Cab gets a new base engine, namely the 2.7L turbo.
The big news for 2023 is the introduction of the even more off-road capable first-ever 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 ZR2 Bison, which is available to order.
Also for 2023, the Silverado light-duty pickup truck receives a $1,000 price hike across the board. The 2023 Silverado received another price increase in November, ranging between $800 and $1,800 depending on trim level.
For 2024, the Chevy Silverado 2.7L engine will be called TurboMax. Also, the 2024 Silverado High Country will be available with the Midnight Edition Package, and the 2024 Silverado ZR2 will offer the L70 Duramax diesel engine to provide more low-end torque while off-roading, joining the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine for available powerplants.
Production of the 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 began at the GM Oshawa plant in Ontario on August 20th, 2022, and at the GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana and GM Silao plant in Mexico on August 29th, 2022, for both Regular Cab and Crew Cab models, and on September 6th, 2022, for Double Cab models. The online configurator tool is live for the 2023 Silverado.
Production of the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 is set to kick off on July 17th.

Looks like they have flooded the inventory with 2.7 turbos and don’t have enough buyers for this engine in a full sized pickup.
And those the incentives begin
And they will just go up from here. The price of vehicles needs to stabilize
Yup, still too high for me.
I’ll wait till the rebates are over $10K. They will return. Patience and don’t buy!!! These trucks are too high in price and interest rates are crazy right now.
Also, anyone with common sense knows deferring the payment for 90 days is not good for overall making payments on vehicles. One thinks they have that $750-$1000 in their accounts and then 90 days later….the oh man what have I gotten into hits and all the finances are “screwed”! I’ve seen this too many times in my profession.
If/when the rebates hit $10k, I will write the check for the right truck, not a 4 cylinder.
Still not enough for me to purchase.
Chevrolet should be ashamed of themselves for trying to sell 60k dollar trucks at full MSRP. Then they wanna insult you further and say “well I can give you $1,000 cash back towards your new truck”……. Yea, well the price is still too ridiculous. When will the 10k, 12.5k, and 15k discounts start rolling out?????
When the rebates hit $17000 I’ll buy.
