Sources close to the matter tell GM Authority that Chevy Equinox inventory levels across the U.S. fell in the beginning of March 2023.
Nearly 15,000 units of the Chevy Equinox were on the ground (at dealerships) as of early March, with an additional 7,000 examples on their way to dealers. This gives the Equinox a 26 days supply, meaning that inventory levels are able to sustain 26 days’ worth of current sales volume. For reference, a 60 days supply is considered optimal.
By comparison, February 2023 inventory levels were higher than those in March 2023, when the Equinox had 18,000 units on the ground and 9,000 units in transit for a 36 days supply.
Sales of the Chevy Equinox rose from 165,323 units sold over the course of the 2021 calendar year to 212,072 units sold during the 2022 calendar year, representing an uptick of almost 30 percent.

This commendable sales performance places the Equinox toward to top of the compact crossover segment – below the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V, with 10 percent segment share.
For the 2023 model year, the Bow Tie brand’s compact crossover continues being offered with a single powertrain combination, the new turbocharged 1.5L I4 LSD gasoline engine, rated at 175 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque, and the GM six-speed automatic transmission. The LSD engine replaced the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LYX gasoline engine for the 2023 model year, where the older engine developed 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque.
As for structure, the 2023 Equinox rides on the GM D2 platform, while production takes place at the GM Ramos Arizpe plant and the GM San Luis Potosí plant, both located in Mexico.
Notably, a next-, fourth-generation Equinox is on the horizon. Set to bring an overhaul both inside and out, the new model is expected to arrive sometime during the 2024 calendar year.

Most dealer here is Canada have virtually 0 inventory. I was at several large Chevy dealerships this week , Both had between 30-40 full size trucks
There was 1 Equinox, 0 Trailblazers , 0 Malibu, 0 Traverse , 0 Colorado , i did see 1 Acadia, 1 Terrain and 1 Encore GX.
By contrast , the Honda and Toyota and Nissan dealerships have lots of inventory .
They will never reach the sales potential of the brand as they have nothing to sell unless you want a FS pickup
Obviously, this is driven by upper management who are sending all of the chips to the most profitable vehicles, FS trucks, but this only works if that is what the consumer wants.
Both Ram and Ford are offer big discounts in this market right now on FS pickups , so GM will have a harder sell with inflated retails and only a break on interest rates .
Nox is always a respectable number 3 with GMC Terrsin boosting total sales in leage with Toyota. With Traverse and Arcadia, too. Same with Trailblazer and Encore GX. Demonstrates just how troubled Ford really is when Mazda sells more copies.
Suprised Sportage isn’t selling better than Tucson. Design is sharp! Nox isn’t for me but I like the simple more VW than VW design. It’s simple like 1st gen Cruze. Me, I’d buy a sedan or Mazda CX-30. Hate such an elevated driving position!
Please, please GM, bring back the 2.0 engine for the equinox! 175 doesn’t cut it. – 252 HP is in our 2018 and is great.
Oh yes! Have 19 and just love it. That engine with the 9 speed is terrific!
I have a 2020 midnight edition , leather , sunroof 19″ black wheels and of course the 2.0L and the 9 speed with AWD.
A real joy to drive !!
