General Motors has just announced that it will expand the offering of Chevrolet Midnight, RS and Z71 trims in Brazil, the second biggest market for its largest volume brand globally.
The automaker anticipated its plans to expand the scope of the Midnight, RS and Z71 trims to more Chevrolet models in Brazil, with the aim of continuing to strengthen the image of the Bow Tie brand in South America and serving an increasing number of consumers who value customized products. These three special have their own market focus and are already offered in at least one Chevy vehicle in the country.
“Each special trim of the Chevrolet portfolio has a very well-defined identity and purpose, always with striking and truly exclusive finishes,” said GM South America Product Marketing Director, Rodrigo Fioco. “We will expand the offering of Midnight, RS and Z71 versions to more models this year,” he added.
The expansion of Chevrolet’s three special trims in Brazil will begin with the imminent launch of the new 2024 Chevy S10 Midnight revealed in February, which will arrive in dealerships later this month. Like the existing Chevy Cruze Midnight and Onix Plus Midnight sedans, the Chevy S10 Midnight is distinguished by its all-black bodywork and trim that give it a striking and stylish personality.
The upcoming 2024 Chevy Tracker and Montana RS will then follow as the newest members of the Chevrolet family with the brand’s successful sporty finish. Both the crossover and the all-new compact pickup in RS trim will add exclusive design elements for a bolder and more daring character. Both models will join the current Onix RS hatchback, Cruze Sport6 RS and Equinox RS in the lineup.
For its part, Chevrolet’s off-road Z71 trim, exclusive to pickups and utility vehicles with four-wheel drive, will be offered in more models after being first introduced in Brazil with the 2022 Chevy S10 Z71. Although the company has not officially revealed it, the next models to introduce a Z71 edition in the Brazilian market are expected to be the Chevy TrailBlazer SUV and the Chevy Silverado 1500 – which will be launched later this year in the South American country.
